Know what you mean, the away kit is easily my favourite of the three but it's not actually very suitable. I doubt we've worn it more than three or four times?
No club really needs a "third kit" if the change kit is chosen sensibly. We're just doing the same cynical commercial thing that other clubs do. There should be a rule that you have to wear your first choice kit unless the referee deems there to be a colour clash. Wouldn't help today, but no reason for town not to wear the claret kit.

For colour blind people a blue v claret shirt clash isn’t ideal. It happened at Villa when we played there.

There's been one cynical commercial thing we haven't done though. The Cup shirt with a different name and number font on the back.
I can understand (although thoroughly disagree) if you're in Europe (Hell, we did it ourselves in 02/03), but Brentford and Leicester for example? Seriously?
The only other team I think I've seen sticking with the usual Premier League font like we did is Bournemouth. I mean, are there really people out there who will buy two versions of say, an Everton home shirt with two different name and number styles?
The second kit is too dark, especially in the wet to clearly define it against blue.
Totally agree. It was very difficult to diferentiate between us and the AFC Wimbledon players in that very forgettable night at their place earlier in the season. I expect with Chelsea being blue, it would have been a consideration when choosing not to wear the 'away' shirt yesterday.

I agree. So many teams seem to have given up on wearing their traditional colours. Last week Leeds even wore purple away at Middlesbrough!

Watching the City v Bournemouth cup game and it looked like City had chosen comic sans as their font. It was horrific. Surely nobody buys that tat?

the answer is fairly simple - while fans keep buying a new kit or two every year plus various ones with minor alterations, the trend will continue. I want to see both clubs play in their traditional kit wherever possible & think the game loses something as a spectacle if clubs are wearing an unfamiliar kit.

I think that I’m in the minority as I couldn’t care less what colour the team play in away from home.
As we've done a number of times in recent seasons, we picked a second kit which we can't actually wear for very many games because it has too many clashes. That said, I do think the pink kit is actually nicer and our record in it is decent so I don't actually mind!
Interesting to see that the Pink ket is not yet reduced in the club shop, whereas the others are now half price. Perhaps keeping it for next season, or perhaps it hasn't been on sale for long enough at full price for it to be reduced. I seem to remember it was released a few weeks after the other ones.

Ed Sheeran’s new unreleased album is pink themed, so still full price as loads of his fans (who haven’t already) will be buying!
