Big polling news today on 14:50 - Apr 25 with 1156 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | I work on building sites and I reckon I hear at least 100 f-words in a day. And none of them are used properly. They are all used as word whiskers. I hate swearing that fills in gaps in a very poor vocabulary. There's no need. There is, however, a place for the occasional swear word at the right time. π [Post edited 25 Apr 14:53]

Personal favourite too, but I'm deeply frustrated by the lack of minge

Agreed - swearing is both big and clever when used appropriately and semi sparingly, else it loses any form of humour or effectiveness. Oh, and I spent the best part of 20 years working on trading floors, not much different than the language on building sites, just the orators had suits on (at least they used to). | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Apparently, the s- word was completely normal and not a swear word in the middle-ages. Not sure why it became unacceptable. I'd be inclined to blame the Victorians.

Surprised that's not made the poll. One of my go to daily terms which , like the many of the best swear words, can be used cuttingly or semi endearingly.

Big polling news today on 07:46 - Apr 26 with 588 views | keighleyblue | Fond of vv*nker as it can also be amplified by the accompanying hand gesture, thereby works just as well as a silent sweary word e.g. inside the car or towards away fans. Also F**k sounds great in a northern accent, eg. Liam Gallagher giving it the full 'f00k off yer massive f00ker'
