In the last few times he’s been on the pitch he has defo been showing the sort of form he showed last season. I think he could be huge for us next season if he continues to develop.

That's the thing isn't it. He seems to be developing in that his work rate and adjustment to a new position has improved so much. Now he seems to be adding his original skills to all that. He seems more confident too.

It's taken time but I'm excited at the potential.

A much better player than people have given him credit for. He will be vital against the low block next season. He will just run and run at defences and cause all sorts of problems.

It’s been unfortunate for him the last 2 games that he got withdrawn early due to sendings off.. he’d looked quite lively in both those games up until that point!

Really hope we can keep both Clarke and Hutchinson as Championship defenses won't be able to cope with those two.

He's really beginning to show what he's about. He WILL a handful in the Champs, and can only get better for a return the the PL.

He's been unlucky in recent games, being pulled off early due to a reshuffle after red cards.

I’m hoping for a Hirst, Hutch, Clarke, philogene front 4, would be so good

I'm liking this. Difficult season and he's been woeful at times, but I've always been on his side. Think he'll come good. Can't take to Philogene at all, though. Early days.

He's had to do a lot of defending in recent games and has done a pretty good job. Maybe employ him as an overlapping fullback ?

No philogene - based on what he has added - hutch is a better right winger, Clarke has looked a better left winger - philogene isn’t a number 10 - would prefer hirst with szmodics as the 2 central or Chaplin - either way they are the best finishers at the club -

I think the development really is the hallmark of his work with McKenna.

Look at how Omari developed between August and January last season, and how Sarmiento developed between January and May.

I'm not at all surprised to see him coming into his own now, and hopefully we'll see similar returns with Philogene.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

With Chaplin, Szmodics, Burns and Ogbenie off the bench/rotate through the starting 11, just need a number 9 to replace Delap and that’s some attacking group at Champ level.

I still think Philogene will be the one next season. Really hope he is fully recovered in time for a full pre-season.

Jack Clarke will have a good season as well. It might be still that Omari moves in and Clarke and Philogene will be the key players.

We still have Broadhead and will have Ogbene back as well who will be brilliant in the champ. And Burns!

Yet again a player looks a bit off it when he comes in, McK gets hold of him, and in time he starts to look very good
The only point of difference is the time it takes
McK has improved pretty much every single player he has worked with
It’s almost as if many people here and in the stands have the memory of a goldfish and get on certain players backs from day one

I’ve always liked him, there’s definitely a good player in there.

Maybe it was a confidence thing, or adapting to a new system that’s slowed him down, but yesterday in particular, it looked like the penny had dropped and he was full of confidence - he caused Everton a number of problems.

Philogene operating off the right, Hutchinson through the middle and Clarke off the left in the Championship is ridiculous. Hopefully we can keep hold of Omari as that would be frightening for teams, and with Hirst/another up top, next year will hopefully provide loads of goals.

That’s before you get in to Burns, Szmodics and Ogbenie all returning from injury too.

Pretty harsh on Philogene.

He's had a difficult start here coming into a struggling team in the prem and then getting injured. He's been great for Hull previously and he's a regular in the U21s.

We've not seen enough of him in a fair setting to make an informed opinion yet in my view. I think he will be good next season.

Notably, the OP is about Clarke having improved over time. But then Billy is written off despite having had a fraction of the opportunity!

Been far from impressed this season, but last 2/3 games think he’s looked a much better player.

Hope he gets some good minutes between now and the end of the season.

Exactly this. He's had a little over 400 minutes on field so far, limited time to work with KmK (accounting for the injury) and at time seen little of the ball despite calling for it.

We just haven't seen enough of him yet to make a judgement.

When I've watched him for the U21s, he's looked promising.

Philogene, with half a year plus of being McKenna'd plus a little physical bulking up, will be a phenomenal player next season. But he won't be the only one in the Blue & White of Ipswich Town.

I’m being harsh yes but based on his cost, he’s not a premier quality player, I admit to being judgmental but don’t see that he has the game or attributes for the money that was spent on him. He’s not big enough, or quick enough and those are pretty much attributes you can’t develop either: . I’m sure he will be fine as we should be the dominant force next season and be the team in the front foot with 70% possession where any player should look good even phlogene. Hopefully once promoted again, I don’t think he will be the type of player we need to keep us in the premier league. His main attribute is his coming in off the left and smashing it in at an angle which I have not seen him to do much as a right winger for any team including England under 21. I’ll support him as a player but am not going to blow how air up his ass and say I think he’s good when I actually don’t think he is anywhere close to the value that we have paid for him. Please prove me wrong philogene, I want to be wrong as want every player to be successful for town.

I'm really glad he's coming good. He was my #1 target for the summer and I was so excited when we were linked with, and then went on to sign him. It's taken him a little while but against Everton he looked the player he was for Sunderland
