First 3 are very tough 12:16 - Jun 26 with 2434 viewsRIPbobby

Brum will be on a high. Saints will be buoyed by winning at PR last season and PNE away were one of our defeats last time at this level.

No worries, Omari will rip it up in August.

Last season results will be irrelevant to the players as each team will have a few new additions as well as a few departures.

He’ll still be recovering from his season which won’t end until the weekend.

He will need at least 2 weeks complete break and will be that 2 weeks behind the others in early August.

Which are totally unrealistic

I can already sense levels of bed wetting being off the scale in the first month or so

Hopefully PNE won't be given a massive headstart by incompetent officials this time. Saints have had an even worse season than us, I don't think they'll be entering the season with any great momentum because they eeked put a Muric assisted win against us in January. Birmingham will be tricky to go to under the lights but player for player, we're a much better team than them and I'd hope we'll show it.

it's the entitlement which annoys me; that we should be getting 3 points in every game just because we're ipswich!

Even Brum’s own fans said they were over-rated.

Southampton are poor.

PNE is three points to any team serious about promotion.

I'll be honest, I don't know much about Birmingham apart from the romped to victory last season.

However, I'm not sure they're going to be as "tough" as people say, especially at the start. As we know, Championship is a bit of a level up from league 1.

Despite our dreadful home form last season, we should not be scared of anyone at home (make it a fortress again!)

And Preston - well who knows.

Any away game is tough in some respects. I think we'll definitely see how good we are after these 3-5 first games.

I think Birmingham will be up there. Manager has to prove himself at the level but they just have so much momentum and you have to imagine they will be a tough team to beat at St Andrews.

Go there score first and kill the crowd. That place gets very loud so have to settle it down.

Birmingham will be like us when we got promoted from L1, full of confidence and they are in the habit of winning games, that's a healthy mindset. I know if I was in Birmingham's camp I'd be looking forward to playing us on the first day of the new season; plenty to gain and little to lose. I'll expect them to attack us from the first whistle at St Andrews, get us on the back foot early on.

7 points would be a nice return from those three, but I'd accept 5.

Win your home games, and draw your away games, and you're on track for top 2 (need very slightly more than that based on previous few seasons).

Rubbish as they might be, Saints still managed to take 4 points off us last season.

Whilst I don't think we should be afraid, we should underestimate the championship at our peril.
This is as much a banana skin for us as we were for Sunderland 2 years ago.

I think Birmingham is a brilliant first game. On paper they don't worry me and our lads will know they'll need to be on it to get a result. Win there and it's a huge statement. Then happily take a point against the Saints.

Can we ban the phrase 'bed wetting'. Its on a par with 'give your head a wobble' if anyone dares to have a different opinion to your own.

Birmingham away very tough, they are going to be full of confidence and will have the same momentum we had two years ago.

As for us, obviously won't have the same momentum so going to be a good game to see where we are at, get a result there and be a great start to the season at one of the sides who will be up there come May.
