Been at training ground this week.

Tbf though he could just be assessing his options as if he’s available, I’m sure all of the top championship clubs will be in for him.

Did Brian Klugg have leaving party that Flynn attended. Anything is possible.

Tbf anything’s possible and what you hear maybe exaggerated but apparently looking for something closer to home but who knows!

Plus I doubt it would be an easy deal to do with Southampton who would consider us a promotion rival.

Brilliant if so. Top player. Exactly what we need in there. Was great when he broke through under Mick and was then pretty much our best player by some distance during very difficult period.

I remember his first team debut at preseason friendly at Posh. What I always liked about him was his willingness to do the simple things well. Read the game, win the ball, give it quickly. Intelligent player.

Also really admired him for speaking out about mental health etc when he had that tricky patch and then went on loan.

I agree!

Always think the criticism of how he left being very harsh as I do think there was a lot more that went on behind the scenes that what we know.

He would be a great signing if it was to be done. Although some slight reservations over the way he left last time (iykyk), but this is a different manager and a complete night and day club compared to them.

I think he could really kick on and thrive now, especially with Morsy as a mentor for 1-2 more seasons.

Can’t get past Texters comment a while back that he stomps about like he’s carrying a roll of carpet under each arm, looking for trouble when he last played for us.

But I’m sure he’s matured and can be our next midfield general.

He ran the last Championship game we played with Saints, we only got back into it because he was moved to right back after the sending off, allowing us to dominate midfield

Definitely. He needed to play at a higher level - the sad and shocking truth is he was way too good for us at that point. He'd played a lot of games for us at a young age - people forget that.

He was the only player to get the better of Morsy that season IMO.

Imagine the kit reveal being done by Downes and Cajuste as two permanent signings with Omari signing a contract extension.....

All the "lack of anything" would be forgotten...

Windows only been open a few days, hasn't it? Anyone banging on about a lack of signings is a total bellend.

We'd already equalised by that point, surely?

What's his contract situation? Seems odd Saints would let me move to a rival?

Certainly better than what we have now but is he good enough for the PL?

He already has in his silence.
If there was nothing in it ... easy to say so. But nothing. Doesn't want to put a spanner in last minute contract negotiations.
Take it that he was here..... or maybe Ryan Carr doesn’t just look like Brandon Williams, but Downes, too.

There was a very small window ahead of the CWC and then it reopened 3 days ago.

So… yes.

Well judging by Saints Twitter he was at their first day of training so doesn't suggest an imminent move.

Unless I’m mistaken, I’m not sure the OP is suggesting that he’s been here ALL week. Just quite simply he could’ve spent a day (or just a few hours) there. So of course he would’ve spent the rest of the week training at Southampton?

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

I'm at the stage where I think this is a bit of a light-hearted wind-up.... so I'm just joining in...not thinking imminent move, too. For now.

Actually, no.

It was open for 10 days before the CWC and reopened on the 16th June.

We are one of only 4 Championship clubs that haven’t made a signing. Of the other 3, one doesn’t have a manager and one barely has an owner.

Many clubs have made multiple signings, some up to 6. Hull have signed more players than us and they are under a transfer embargo.

Obviously we are in a reasonable position in terms of the squad, but there are very obvious areas that need addressing, CF and CM notably. The players are back training and the season starts in 5 weeks.

We do need to get a move on really.
