Borough ITK'er saying on their forum that HH not yet made decision

If there is truth in this and he is honestly a Boro fan and knows his sale funds a wider squad rebuild. He must know the implications of not making a decision. Seems likely he is either staying at Boro or waiting for PL. Ipswich just doesn't seem to be for him. Just my opinion.

Maybe he loves the smoggy smell of Teeside or he just does not want to leave North Yorkshire.

It's a big move for him, not sure why people are losing their heads over him wanting to think about it.

Its a strange one isn't it.

On the one hand you cant blame the lad for wanting a move to a Premier League side and like his ambition, however if reports are to be believed and we are prepared to offer him a decent wage with the added caveat of being one of the favourites for promotion then you wonder why he isn't chomping at the bit to come here.

What will be will be I guess!

If it means another week for HH and JC to join, so be it. Worth the wait IMHO.

Word is that he's incredibly frustrated that the national LiDAR programme didn't survey the area around RAF Fylingdales on the North York Moors. He's a prehistoric archaeology
aficionado and wanted to see if the LiDAR data would help explain the origins of the Wheeldale Roman road.

Off-topic, but it’s only relatively recently that I learnt that Middlesbrough was in North Yorkshire. I associate the place with either County Durham or Tune and Wear.

I’m fully onboard for any player taking some time to examine their options, it’s a short career after all and they need to make the most of it for themselves and their families.

Having said that there surely needs to be a decision made by Town as to how much longer they pursue this deal? It would be a real coup for the club to get it over the line but if it’s not going to happen we need to move on.

The danger here is Hackney keeps us hanging until the last minute and then decides against the move.

Alternatively he could think if we don’t get promoted he’ll be tied into a long term deal stuck in this division, pushing his Prem hopes back a year or two further.

Or he could have a great start to the season with Boro and potentially get the desired Prem move in Jan.

Hopefully conversations with McKenna went well (which they usually do) and he’ll sign over the weekend.

I would imagine he is running it past his girlfriend. Quite a long way to move. Assuming he has a gf then that must come into consideration.

I can't see us letting it go on much further than the start of next week. If he's not agreed to join us by then, I suspect we'll move on. Boro will similarly want a decision from him soon.

Getting silly now. You either get vibes for something or you don’t. He obviously hasn’t got the vibe to come here. Time to move on , we need recruits sooner rather than later.

Agreed. I'd imagine Boro will want to give themselves plenty of time to spend the funds. It isn't really in anyones interests to let it drag on much longer than that.

It dragged on with Szmodicz last season, don’t see this being any different.

Another vague ITKer.

Hearing he might sign but not sure yet, so still chance he might not.

Personally, I'd hope we're targeting sensible professionals who properly consider stuff rather than people who make decisions solely off vibes.

Exactly. Game’s gone if ITK merchants are going with “he’s undecided”.

In fairness he’s had all summer to think about it. We’ve been linked with him for months now. Hasn’t just been landed on him this week. Of course it’s his right to wait as long as he likes though. Don’t think we’re really in a position to force him into making a quicker decision

SS clearly wanted to come though and was basically threatening to go on strike by all accounts. It was the Venkys fcking about that slowed that down I believe.

It's a massive decision for the lad to spend at least another season at this level especially if by all accounts he's ready to step up. Equally, we are also entitled to not wait around forever. Both positions are fine.

I could easily see this getting tinned for now and then revisited in the last days of the window if he still hasn't got a PL move.

But hard to see it reaching a favourable conclusion imminently though.

I wouldn't bet against this but dynamics were different in that case - a player determined to join us, battling very stubborn owners, and a transfer fee representing much less of the available pie at the time. Maybe we're comfortable spending the Hackney fee twice this month on CMs but I can see a world in which we're not, if things drag on too long to delay alternative options.

Especially of a 23 year old who has never left the area he grew up in and no doubt knows absolutely smeg all about Ipswich or Suffolk. Its a massive move, lifestyle wise and career wise.

I am not entirely sure why people say this about British players moving just a few hundred miles between cities easily traversable by train or car on journeys people do daily, and not so much about international players who travel far further and have added language or cultural issues.

SOmehow people often (not necessarily yourself) think international youngsters can just do this whereas it's somehow complicated or difficult for young British men to do it (while we know that thousands of 18 year olds a year travel all over the country for university each September and they aren't treated as some kind of anomaly or having special skills)

I just think it's weird. Middlesbrough is pretty close to Suffolk all things considered, and 23 is not a very young age.

Imagine Boro are getting fed up with it too, they will have pending business they can't do until they know if he's going. Not that this is much comfort for us.
