If a better offer came in and the seller chose the better offer, then no. |

He’s allegedly on £80k a week at Ajax. I doubt Brum can afford that sort of wage on a permanent deal plus signing on fee etc and I doubt town would pay that either. The loan deal involved Brum agreeing to pay 60% of his wages and town agreed the same loan deal. | | | |

Given how south relationships between him and Ajax would appear to have gone in recent months, I doubt Akpom will care hugely what Ajax prefer. He has no reason to go to Birmingham now unless Birmingham offer better money than Ajax, otherwise he can potentially turn the tables back on them and refuse to play/ keep taking his wage from them so there are two sides to this.
Ajax, however, completely entitled to do what they are doing. It is a no brainer from a financial angle. Cannot blame them. They are playing this situation very well. [Post edited 5 Aug 20:54]

He’s most definitely not on £80k a week.
For one Ajax don’t really operate on the financial structure, and the Eredevise doesn’t really generate that level of income to be paying that sort of money.
Their highest earner is reportedly Brian Brobbey returning from Leipzig, but even he’s apparently on less than £50k a week. |  | | |
