Does it? I don't think so - that's business.
What would stink is if they accepted the loan, the player travels pass the medical and then they say no to the loan - with no other deal in place. Just decide not to let the player go.
Although, if they lost a couple of players to injury, could you begrudge them? |
I'd argue it stinks as they had accepted two loans at us and Brum and hence the player was rightly in a position to choose team, and did likewise. Ajax moved the goalposts after he had chosen and had a medical (if indeed it is correct they don't like a loan anymore and not seen any evidence of that) which I think is unfair on the player, and indeed the clubs. | | | |

I don't get how it is bad form, this is just business. Akpom is just a pawn in the game. Ajax need to make the best of a bad situation. If they can get a permanent deal of 7 million less a couple of million to pay the player's wage difference, then why would they not do it, rather than loan and potentially see an unwanted player on a huge wage return in a year's time. If the goalposts have changed then so must our offer if we want him that much. I doubt it is some testosterone fuelled move from Brum to get one over on us, they generally want him and if it means we have to sign him on a permanent deal, then that is what we will likely have to do. I’ve said eleswhere but if Ipswich made Ajax a formal offer that Ajax accepted subject Akpom agreeing personal terms and if Akpom has and is ready to sign then I would say Ajax would be very out of line in not releasing Akpom’s registration. Offer and acceptance mean something legally. |  | | |
