We've all got movies (or films, depending on your vocabulary!) that we watch again and again - last night I watched This is Spinal Tap for the umpteenth time, remastered 41st anniversary version of it at the King Street Cinema in Ipswich.
That, alongside the original Star Wars trilogy, and Zoolander, are probably my most watched.

I'm not really a film fan. Never heard of a lot mentioned so far, but I did watch the Dylan and the Neil Young films at the cinema this year and they were both enjoyable viewing.

I'm not really a film fan. Never heard of a lot mentioned so far, but I did watch the Dylan and the Neil Young films at the cinema this year and they were both enjoyable viewing.
I've heard good things about the Dylan film, including from someone who has little interest in Dylan.
But this thread has got me thinking about 'movies' as fluff to while away the time and 'films' as works of art made by auteurs. Hollywood, amongst other systems, has, in my opinion, dragged the level of film making down in most cases so that great films like 'To Kill A Mockingbird' or 'Sunset Boulevard' might not get the same reception today. There are still wonderful ones being made but the assumption is made that they only have arthouse appeal and struggle to get the attention they deserve. Terence Malick's 'A Hidden Life' would be a good example.
Airplane and the holy grail at least 50 times, probably closer to 100.

I own multiple copies on different formats and whenever I catch it on TV, I just have to watch it through to the end. Perfect film making. Just like Rosemary's Baby, not a frame is wasted.
