Why did the media and police lie so readily 07:20 - Sep 17 with 3059 viewsonceablue

Lie about the number of people on the Unite the Kingdom rally

Police say 110,000 on the Unite the Kingdom rally

We took 5,000 to Preston the other week.

According to the Police that means there were only 22x more people on the rally.

There was quite clearly between 500,000 to a 1,000,000 people on that protest

The Police lied because they, the media and the Government want to play down the feeling of the Country at the moment

I assume you're some form of expert in photo or video analysis to be able to determine that it was potentially the biggest political rally in the UK ever?

What is it you like best about Stephen Yaxley-Lennon? The violent crime, the fraud, the hating around with foreign nazis or the bit where he tried to get the trials of sex abusers abandoned?

The figures may or may not be inaccurate but in your admirable quest for the truth, you seem to have overlooked the multiple and enduring lies told by the organisers of the event and their sponsors to get people to turn out.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Pretty much anyone who ever goes on a demonstration claims they've been undercounted.

Given that pretty much every newspaper bar maybe 2 is absolutely desperate for a Farage government as soon as possible I'm not sure who exactly would organise this conspiracy. Perhaps the well-known liberal sissies at the Metropolitan Police?

Where have those numbers come from? It’s a wide range and a variation of up to 100% suggests something other than “quite clear”. It’d be helpful to know how you arrived at the figures to back up your claim of a cover up.

One day you will learn not to advertise your ignorance so readily.

With marches it is generous to say there is average density of about one person per square metre.

At that density, a million people would cover around 56 kilometers (35 miles) of road the width of Victoria Embankment, equivalent to the distance from Waterloo Bridge to the outskirts of Luton.

Based on that, estimates of 150k are generous.

A rally itself based at source on a huge, tragic lie that the "small boats" issue is in any way one of the biggest problems affecting this country.

If you'd been paying attention, you would have seen that I posted the following on another thread yesterday.

The Express (not renowned for downplaying things on this type of issue) employed an expert in the estimate of crowd sizes and he came to the conclusion there were less than 100,000.

Maybe, however, he didn't count the number of observers.

He's hardly "incensed" is he.

Why cant you lot just accept that there might be other opinions to yours, without the sarky, condescending and over the top remarks.

The problem with these subjects, is that there's often a huge middle ground of opinion which is instantly dismissed and receives the pile on from the usual suspects.

Ive said it before, I'm sure the attitudes of a few stop a lot of people from posting.

Its the same posters and the same outcome, every bloody time.

I think the point he is making is the abuse and condescending sniping mainly comes from one specific group of posters on here.
