First half was typical championship fayre, with us creating the better openings.
Second half was an absolute farce, and the game should have been stopped much earlier than it was. You really shouldn't be trying to analyse too much about how we played in that Second half, albeit the sending off was poor from Greaves regardless of conditions.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
Agree - cannot judge us on that. The pitch was awful and completely stifled the free flowing football we like and worked for their five midfield players. We were not great because of that but they were awful also, and yet their fans seem to think they played well, which gives me huge confidence for the replay

You literally just done what you told everyone not to do in your last sentence.
Not really.
My comment was about the match as a whole, whereas the Greaves card was one incident.
I actually largely agree with your post around concern that we're making too many soft mistakes through tge middle of defence. A simple ball over the top shouldn't undo us that easily.

Maybe. I can’t say I particularly liked what I saw of us today though. Horrid conditions but the same for both sides and we still made some fairly basic errors. O’Shea looks worse at this level than he did in the PL. We miss Morsy’s leadership massively for me.

Spot on. And ball carriers like Cajuste, Philogene and Davis were unable to play to their natural game with the ball holding up as it did. It wasn't a game of football.

Pathetic apologist crap at this point - wrong type of rain.., only we played in it too which is harsh.
Maybe your fantasy emotional investment in one man, you’ve never actually seen work, is wrong…, just an idea based on 14 months not one game.
Your ego can’t process it can it…, wrong type of grass, ball too round? .., nasty referee whistle too loud?
It’s pathetic at this point.., agree for one game…, 44 nah .., at this point the problem is in the mirror pal…, emotionally investing your self esteem in the McKenna and Ashton cluster f@fk!
£200 million to be worse than Micks teams - he spent £2.75 and you gave him hell!!!
He’d be pumping Real Madrid 12-0 with £200 million burning a hole.., Mckenana is a busted flush, wasn’t ever what you said he was!!! At any point too.
Dined out on the leadership group already here - Sam, Chaplin, Burgess and Massimo never got the credit they deserved…, Ashton and McKenna .., more than they deserved, and not to say they didn’t contribute.
He tides gone out now pal.., he’s naked and it’s not pretty,
To apologise for the last 14 months, worst in our clubs history…, you might as well go watch curling…, your no use here, we (had) standards once upon a time!!
John Duncan was better than this.., nobody has done worse with so much resource.
The worst managers in our history at least didn’t blow £200 million doing it!!
We could pay a price for your apathy and pathetic drooling over McKenna like a love sick puppy for decades, many of them.

I sometimes think there’s some relevant points in amongst your ramblings and you do give a few timely reminders to a some that can’t see anything wrong with whats happened since we got promoted.
However, you’ve gone now gone into a full all out revolt!

What about the previous 86 games before that?
That's the problem with "whataboutism". It just becomes tit for tat comparison of previous events. And detracts from the here and now. Right now, we're coming off the back of a 5-0 win. And today's game got abandoned. It's that simple.
Everyone's entitled to a rant.. But crikey, your apparent dislike for KM is starting to look a little bit weird imo. Not going to judge too harshly. As we've all got different ways of communicating, especially when frustrated. I'm frustrated that we are 10 points adrift of top spot. But we're 6pts off 2nd with a game in hand (atm). With 40 games left to play. Let's see how it goes against Pompey, and the next couple after that.. 10 games is a decent sample to see if we're starting to head in the right direction. Ultimately we'll be judged on where we finish. Not where we are after 5 games.

I don’t think there is anyone ‘that can’t see anything wrong with what’s happened since we got promoted’ and I’m glad you think there are some relevant points in that Poster’s ‘contributions’. Before putting him on ignore, I saw nothing but bile and trolling and I’m amazed he is still the forum..
There is nothing wrong with analysis, comment, praise, emotion, questions or criticism. It is what a forum is for, in my view. It is not though for unwarranted abuse, which let’s face it some take great pleasure in engaging in.
Have the actions of the club since May 24 been beyond criticism? No, they got plenty wrong and made some strange and poor decisions in my view. Does that apply this summer? Not particularly (bar one signing that will inevitably prove me wrong), because it’s way too early to assess. I agree with those on here have said 10 games before you can form any sort of judgement.
I noticed an interesting post yesterday that basically said the selling of Delap and Hutchinson was luck. Philogene has been useless every game and Sheffield U can be discounted because Godfrey was awful. That means whatever JP does in that poster’s eyes, even if it’s score another 20 goals this season, he was, is and will be a waste of money and space.
So he stands no chance then. Same for Clarke, Greaves, McAteer - the latter, five games and in the bin. Why? Because they cost money which actually isn’t their fault, and replaced old favourites - again not their fault. You never know, a little encouragement as opposed to abuse and hate and they might even play a little better.
Yesterday? We should have been 4-0 up with what our team cost compared to theirs. Conditions? Same for both teams so no excuses. This of course is a load of rubbish. Sport isn’t like that. The game was a nonsense in those conditions, as was the Oxford and Leicester ‘snow game’ all those years ago.
So where are we? My assessment is poor start, encouraging signs from not just the last home game. We are still some way of a settled team and as somebody pointed out it feels a little bit like Cook’s start. My expectations are still high, but in sport like life, nothing is a given. I’m hopeless at predictions but I’ll say top six after a highs and lows season.

First half is probably a reasonable judge. The pitch wasn’t great then but it was playable and we looked sluggish and less cohesive than Blackburn. Although they didn’t really create any clear cut opportunities. They were largely prettily ineffective. I largely agree though - one to just move on from.

We do however, need to start scoring in these typical championship away games.
Think that point is being overlooked somewhat.
For all the concerns expressed about our defence we’re not exactly shipping goals. It’s a goal a game. With the amount of money we’ve spent on forward thinking players you’d expect them to more than make up for that.

I think over the last game and a half you can see we're creating more very presentable chances than we had been. That comes as the team starts to gell and forward players start to link up better, anticipate each others runs etc. (i.e. the ball that put in Hirst was a great example).

There's only one negative about yesturday that I can't quite work out
Early on, as seen in the below highlight video, the ball slows a fair in the first half, yet when you then look again at the lead up to the penalty, we're still trying to play passes along the floor with little zip and the ball again slows down which wasn't surprising considering the rain. I'm just therefore confused why knowing conditions weren't great, we continued to play the short passes knowing there's a danger the ball will slow down on route.
This is when i'd hope to see KM saying to the lads, look this isn't going to work, we need to go direct and make it ugly instead.

I imagine because it's not that easy when you've had playing one way drummed into you over and over, to then just switch to a different style of play.

Think it's something we need to work on, and quite surprising if we havent really, KM has said many times in recent interviews, pitches will change, the weather etc... it's an obvious thing of course, but because is that obvious, surely we need to be able to adjust accordingly.

It probably will be, but yesterday was a bit of a freak to be honest.
