Loss of a True Blue 11:58 - Sep 28 with 1294 viewscarlisleaway

We lost our Father this morning at the ripe old age of 100
Served in the Royal Navy and was involved in the D Day landings, a true veteran.
Loved Ipswich Town FC and had a season ticket until the age of 92, even afterwards he loved watching Ipswich on Sky TV

Sorry for your loss, sounds like your father had a great life. I hope Town’s recent success gave him some enjoyment in his latter years.

RIP Carlisle senior.

RIP your dad. A brave man. My father in law who died in 2009 was also RN and was involved in DDay landings. That wonderful generation are nearly gone now, but their memory and deeds are there for posterity.

Condolences to you and your family. Do let the club know of his passing so that he’s remembered at the memorial game, whenever that is.

Once a blue always a blue.

Anyone involved in the D day landings gets a doth of the cap from me.

He sounds an amazing man.

What a fantastic age for him to live to and would have seen and lived through so much, both football and life in general. Definately an age to celebrate an incredible life
