....it's the December period of games and we're 6 points off top spot sat in the play offs

What are you going to be asking for in the January transfer window and why ?

Poll: Chances of a Town New Signing Announcement(s) Today ?

I would ask for a Morsy replacement or the man himself to back up Taylor and Matusiwa, not sure if Cajuste is suited to that role or just injured still.

A no9 as Hirst has been out of form and I’m not convinced on Azon.

The only Muff in Town.

Striker. Hirst has been generally poor this season (bar a handful of headers/tap ins from 3 yards or less) and Azon's finishing has also been poor. Someone who can get 10-15 goals 2nd half of the season, will be vtal to any promotion bid (inc play-offs if necessary).

Poll: Assume we have the money for one more big signing. Where do you spend it?

Very harsh on Hirst. I really wish we'd reassess what "poor" actually means and looks like.

I definitely agree though that a third striker would be very helpful in January, as would proper back-ups to Davis and Matusiwa.

Morsy.

Give him 18 months. If we go up we get nine subs don't we? His experience would be key even if it meant going 5 in midfield when protecting leads (yes I know, I know....)

Truly impaired.

Josh Sargent.

Fills the still-vacant striker slot whilst amusing that lot up the road.

At current rate Hirst is on for 19 goals this season.

Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to do that, unless the price tag was so ridiculous? In which case I would rather we didn't.

Left back and number nine innit.

As someone posted Sargent would be ridiculously effing hilarious.

Matusiwa/Leif back ups definitely. Striker maybe. I still don't think we have the 10 nailed down really, that is a bigger issue for me than another striker. Neither Szmodics or Akpom look the right type of player in that position for me. Feel like we need someone with more guile and more of a creator. Wonder if Omari would come back on loan or if that bridge is burned?

Perhaps a little recency bias because of his hattrick at the weekend, but Divin Mubama. Extra muscle up front, quick and strong. Would be joining sharp off the back of a half season loan at Stoke, if we could get Man City to call him back and send him / sell him to us instead.

He's scored more goals (excl. penalties) than Hirst this season.

A centre back - maybe we revisit the Caceres deal.

A Luongo replacement CM - Downes?

Recall Chaplin.

New #10 to replace Akpom or SS (just don’t think they fit the role). Need a link player rather than a second striker.

Back up to Azor

I think Nunez is going to our new 10 from now onwards, links up play really well

Another striker option.

Azon has been a little unlucky with the woodwork but hope he gets a goal soon. But if Hirst gets crocked we short. A bit more competition to keep him on his toes.

A GK that gains us 6 to 8 points over half a season. Palmer is ok but I think we could strengthen there

The squad is plenty strong enough as is, imo. That said, if Akpom or Szmodics don't up their game I'd like to see a number 10 in, possibly a highly regarded Prem youngster on loan.

Tap ins from 3 yards or less than are a result of either excellent movement to lose defenders or having better attributes than those challenging him.

When Chaplin put himself in a position to score cutbacks, people were intelligent enough to see it was as a result of him understanding where he should be and created empty spaces. I'm not sure why people can't see the same for Hirst.

Scoring though types of goals is important and it is a skill.

Staggered that no-one has suggested a new keeper.

It's our biggest weakness right now.

Back-up for Matusiwa would be important, along with a 3rd striker.

A fully fit and firing Wes Burns, because McAteer just isn't cutting it

yeah on the Goalkeeper front, and i think we really need an effective number 10 to link up the play and get on the end of things.

Nunez isn't the long term answer there, Sammie and Chuba have failed to convince.

Before the season started I would have agreed, but I thought Palmer had actually started the season a lot better than he ended the last one

Why don't you think Nunez is a long term fit? He's doing well and will surely improve in the role as he plays it more.

McAteer has played 344 minutes for us – that's fewer than four full games. He's admitted it was tough to settle after he arrived, and did look bright & positive in his short time on Saturday. We can help him, not to mention ourselves, by giving him somewhat longer than this to plug into what McKenna wants.

Just to be clear, i'm not writing him off

But having Wes as competition for that spot can only be a good thing

Definitely hope we will be able to benefit from a version of Burns that's somewhere close to the pre-injury one.
