Ive tried to explain that mixing of the two colours involved is just not good and could lead to 7 years bad luck, the end of civilisation as we know it or worse.

No you're absolutely right to be steadfast in that. I'd say you're "normal, mature and perfectly typical".
I've been known to change the colours on spreadsheets at work. When my kids were little I'd also rearrange crayons and pens in the packets, I was also known to move lego bricks. Never told them why, just quietly went about my business doing gods work.

I think you are a wrong un for liking Mint and Lemon tea bags before you get to the colour combo. I’m sure there must be some sort of therapy available but my advice is put them straight in the bin.
With regard to colours, nah, I wouldn’t put them together. My golf society shirt is exactly Norwich yellow and I loath wearing it. I have to one event a year and the rest of the year, in the corner of the cupboard in a dark place it goes.
