We didn't get Kieffer Moore til February 1st even though it was absolutely glaring that we needed a striker. These things just take time, especially in January when clubs have a short window to get their replacements in etc etc and set the dominoes falling. | |

My take on his post, and the replies from similar hystericals, is how do they know what is going on behind the scenes? The implication is that Ashton is sitting there twiddling his thumbs, and his staff are nervously drawing straws for the job of telling him it's the middle of January.
He might be on the phone to someone's agent as I type this.
It does feel some fans want someone in INSTANTLY the window opens - doesn't matter who it is - instead of taking the time to get the right player in.

I don't look at Tw*tter much if I can help it, but I've been quite pleased by the (complete?) lack of transfer bedwetting on TWTD this window (so far!). I think that reflects how good the squad looks by comparison with the rest of the division - sure we could be stronger, and I think we could do with some player investment for development in the second half of this season, but I think most of the bedwetters we were seeing here a few months ago when we were upper midtable have actually and creditably developed a little bladder fortitude and realised we're in a pretty good place. | |

Agreed, and we're in a difficult situation as we don't want to sign someone that can't take the step up, leaving us with a financial hangover going into next season.

Anyone with an ounce of knowledge know a lot of these transfers, especially in this window, happen right at the end.
Deals may have been "agreed in principle" but the selling team may need to get a replacement and so the domino effect happens. Once all the deals are in place, it happens. | | | |
