And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

So that's Maxwell in prison, Andrew M-W arrested and Mandelson arrested. The brits involved in this are getting justice, looking forward to seeing a flurry of americans being made accountable as well now.

Seems to be a bit of a shift in the accountability stakes with both him and nonce Andrew getting their collars felt. Whether they get jail time, time will tell, but the impression that those in positions of power can act with impunity is perhaps changing?
A good few days for the peasants among us who expect our justice system to actually apply equally to everyone in our society.

I’d like to think so, but suspect the Royals and political classes will both re-group and defend their respective areas. Mandleson being sacked and Andrew losing his titles seem to have helped lead to this moment; both being cut loose/sacrificed so those left in power can say ‘they’re no longer part of what we are’. It would have been much more awkward for those in power had they remained part of their respective families.

I may be one of the more cynical peasants, but just can't believe Randy Andy will spend even a minute behind bars.
Mandy possibly, just to give the slightest impression that those in power can't act with impunity. But Andy, not a feck1n chance

or maybe on these two occasions the objective evidence is at a level justifying arrest.

They've been dumped for sure and the self preservation of Starmer and Charlie more important to them than loyalty to those they previously protected.
Watching it playing out is fascinating as well as the mental gymnastics of your average Tory (Monarchy supporter, Starmer critic) and those defending Starmer whilst criticising Charlie/Liz.
If like me you think prioritising victims is most important in this, it's hard not to conclude that those helped Epstein (and worse) should have been held to account years ago. Starmer and Charlie's conduct/judgement looks worse by the day.

It's always the cover up....
I think Elizabeth was the defender of Andrew more than Charles. She would have never been able to cast him adrift the way the King has, despite the importance of the royal household to her.

He was her favourite child apparently (imagine that) and she clearly knew for years what he was like and doing. There’s absolutely no way she wasn’t in the loop and the pay off shows that.
Credit to Starmer that on his watch people are being arrested and at least have the prospect of justice. Trump on the other hand…..

Perhaps in surprisingly, there now seem to be a lot of royal commentators saying that there's nothing behind the idea that Andrew was her favourite.

Or it could be that that was literally when he was a child, not an adult.
In any case, even if he doesn’t do jail time, I look forward to him having to clean his own loos & wash his own grubby clothes, as last I heard it was becoming increasingly hard to find any staff who’d work anywhere he lives. I know I wouldn’t for a salary of £millions; would feel too nauseous even approaching such a place.

Really don't think Starmer or Charlie get one ounce of credit given their previous actions (or lack of)
Does feel like the start of a story that will take a long time to play out. Am sure if/when people are charged they will hide behind legal proceedings but their actions are hugely damaging to the Labour party/Monarchy.
