When this first broke I speculated the motivation was all ego driven. I'm very disappointed to have been proven correct. What a shit weasel.

Absolute weapon. Too interested in sticking his tongue up the arse of anyone high profile over the interests of the club.

Get him out.

Seem to remember people raising concerns when Mike O'Leary retired about how leaving Ashton unchecked could potentially be dangerous - so it has been proven I think.

He's made a really awful decision and then made several bad ones since the event that suggest that even if you aren't personally bothered by the Farage stuff his competency in his role has to be drawn into question.

A sad week for the club and he has to be the person who takes the bullet for it.

I would imagine McKenna is thinking about his future here as well. What a shitshow.

Ashton's always been a self serving prick, but he was a self serving prick who picked a great young manager and so piggy backed that.

I've worked with dozens of bullsh1tters who talk them selves up at every opportunity and finally get caught out.

He's been caught out. A vacuous over promoted pr1ck who's royally fcked up. If he's not sacked, and quickly I'll be amazed.

They must be laughing their heads off in Bristol.

One person as CEO and Chairman is never a good idea. I was surprised the owners sanctioned that at the time.

All for hosting someone who has politics different to yours…

Ironically as undemocratic as it comes, silence those who views differ to yours. Not engage with people because of there beliefs.

Whilst there are a few bits which I don’t agree with in the report, the club deny that story of events.

Presumably the current silence is because it takes a while to finalise resignations. I guess the EADT were aware the story was still building so they were confident enough to call for an apology. The most culpable needs to go immediately others implanted to leave in at the end of the season.

Gutted really, I know he has his haters but he’s been bloody brilliant for our football club and I believe he does truly care about it.

Big mistakes have seemingly been made since the Farage visit, should’ve been handled and dealt with so much better.

It's about honesty, integrity.

Hr lied to us, simple.

Get the him out of the club ASAP and then we can get behind the players.

It is a great pity, but the barefaced lies and subsequent silence mean he has shown himself to be untrustworthy.

He can't hide in his bunker for the entire international break. He has to face the cameras and at least show some genuine contrition.

This isn't just damaging for the reputation of the club, it also can't be doing the team spirit any good at such a pivotal time of the season.

I'd imagine that Phil, EADT etc are pretty pissed off at being used to peddle to lies and take the flak on behalf of the club.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

I’ve never particularly been enamoured by the bloke, but have always been grateful for the wider job he has done here. But ultimately it’s all about him, and we’ve been warned by plenty of others - mainly Bristol City fans - that this is what he’s like.

I personally never got the love in for him, but there we are.

As I say, this would’ve never happened under Mike O’Learys watch. Whoever decided it was a good idea to give him responsibility as a chairman and CEO needs their heads testing - that relies within the ownership group.

C0cked it right up at a crucial time of the season for us. Cheers Mark, off you pop.

I don't even think an apology at this point is enough. He's barefaced lied, his position is untenable.

Yep. For someone who's always keen to beat his chest and proclaim he's always got the best interests of the club at heart to do this in the first place, then lie to and undermine the intelligence of club staff, players, fans and local media alike is a proper disgrace.

Utterly shameful that this club would have someone in such a position(s) behave like this. At least Evans et al. were simply just incompetent.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Hope it was worth it for him. It's cost him his job here, today or tomorrow or next week. He has lied, broken his trust with supporters and fan groups and local media and by sounds of it, important and respected figures in the club.

Fck me Sitters....

You might want to reread your contributions for the past few days.

I hate "I told you sos" but your contributions have been something else tbh.

Anyhow....not wanting a row, but the way so many refused to see what was clearly a PR fck up is something else.

How do you not get this?? Or are you being deliberately obtuse? I suspect the latter.

It's not that it is Farage. I couldn't give a toss who he meets with in his own time, but when he uses the club to promote a political party... be that Reform, the Tories, the Greens, the Monster Raving Loony party... that is bad enough.

When they go on to lie about it, then he has to go. This has dragged our club through the mud and sown division in the fanbase.

Ashton out

Too late for that. If that's what had happened on day one it might have been different.
