| This season has been a disaster (discuss) 08:11 - Apr 25 with 2285 views | fab_lover | Bear with me. It's not about promotion. After 25 years of supporting the club, I've never felt so down about it Not that my support will ever stop. Ipswich til I die... ...but. To the rest of the football community, we are now perceived as fascist cheaters. Should we care? Imagine being in a relationship, and for years people think your partner is cute, kind, loveable. Then people change their mind about them. Partly because of things they did; partly because of circumstance. You'd still love your partner; but it would take the gloss off. Your relationship would be something you would have to defend, not something you'd have validated as before. Supporters of other clubs - Millwall or Leeds come to mind - have dealt with this for years. Maybe it gets easier with time. Personally, I'd rather not even be in the play offs and have my club back as it was. Feel free to tell me I'm a melt etc; but does anyone else feel this way? Uppa Town. | | | | |

| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 08:22 - Apr 25 with 1851 views | BanksterDebtSlave | Even I would say this probably isn't the day for it! Despite the whole tawdry affair taking the edge off the season, and the fact that watching us has felt far from entertaining a lot of the time, I will be celebrating just as hard if we get a result today. But as you've brought it up...Ashton Out!! | |

| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 08:32 - Apr 25 with 1768 views | Herbivore | I don't think people think we're fascists, angry as I am about Ashton (out) and associating the club with Farage. We're hardly Lazio. And we pissed and moaned about how many pens Leicester and Leeds were getting in 2023/24 and that is was parachute club bias. We've had two soft ones go out way lately but we've had some stonewall ones not given in games where it's cost us points and then there's the Stoke away decision as well. The Sky co-commentators always seems to have something against us, it was the same in 2023/24 too, the narrative has just shifted from us being plucky but not very good and reliant on late goals to us conning refs. | |

| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 08:37 - Apr 25 with 1727 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Some won’t recall, as I sometimes forget how long ago it was, but following relegation in 2002 We were described in some quarters as being everyone’s second favourite club. We’d been that for ages after our repeated missing out on the playoffs, (plucky losers), then taking on the Premiership, as it was called, big boys on a shoestring budget, then suffering relegation but still getting into Europe via winning the fair play award. For some, including me, this was the final straw, battling relegation all season and winning the fair play award? That didn’t shout “fighting against relegation” that said “too nice” and suddenly many didn’t want to be everyone’s 2nd team any more, we wanted to win things. Then Evans came along and the remaining years are history. So to hear visiting fans in FPR a few weeks ago singing “same old Ipswich, always cheating” it put a smile on my face for two reasons, firstly we certainly aren’t and secondly it means perception has shifted, and that’s good. There are no other supporters who think we are fascist, you’ve conjured that yourself if other fans *think we cheat? Good. Because their side certainly does, but they think we’re better at it. Blue Army! | |

| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 08:49 - Apr 25 with 1645 views | fabian_illness | Some guy who's been lying to and manipulating people for years has managed to lie to and manipulate a couple of people at the club and make a massive mountain out of a tiny mole hill. If youve ever stood in dog sh*t, you feel annoyed and dirty and it can certainly spoil your day. But, it wipes off after a while. Stop crying and back your club. | | | |

Ashton going will help reduce damage, but that's a leap!

| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 09:16 - Apr 25 with 1434 views | Guthrum | No. Regarding the cheating accusation, that is an entirely-standard set of insults thrown at successful teams by their rivals. We used to say it about Grant Holt all the time. On the Farage affair, I don't think most people see ITFC as associated with fascism. Those who care enough to use it for more than a few short-lived mocking memes are aware of the strong reaction in our fanbase. It's seen as an odd aberration, rather than a statement of club policy. We don't yet know the full truth of what occurred, may never do, but I suspect there is more to come out after the dust of this season has settled. It's on Ashton, not Ipswich Town. | |

| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 09:26 - Apr 25 with 1351 views | blueprint | What a dramatic flounce over nothing. Im sure if you dug deep into the lives of enough of your fellow Town fans you would find the odd one with a shady past or undesirable views but would that lead you to wanting your club not to progress because of it? Yes Ashton has peed of a lot of fans but wanting us not to be in the play offs because he invited a decisive figure to the club is ridiculous. | | | |
| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 09:37 - Apr 25 with 1276 views | waveneyblue | Wow, what on earth has gone through your head to post this at 8 in the morning on a huge day for the club you claim you support. We are now perceived as Fascist ? By who ? You and a few on here who have the utter inability to disconnect somebody they despise with the club, purely because that person visited ONCE and milked it for publicity (in exactly the same way they milk every bloody situation). Ironically, its you lot that are dragging the season down because of your petty hate campaign against a guy who has pretty much been a huge part of our recent incredible success. Honestly what is the matter with you ? | | | |

In fact, not many people even know about it. It was a stupid thing to do, even more stupid to lie about and I get that the sponsors aren't happy, but IMO it's a storm in a teacup.

| This season has been a disaster (discuss) on 10:53 - Apr 25 with 850 views | wkj | I mean, dude - I'm not especially happy about Farage getting the red carpet, but the biggest issue is people are too set in their ways. However, gone are the days that a nice family owns a football club and it takes skill in recruitment to have success. We now need stature and money to frontload everything. ITFC never sold their soul, football itself did that. Also, "f" everyone else's perception of us. "Plucky Little Ipswich" and "Tractor Boys" were descriptors of us that were condescending head pats. Does being "loved" by everyone and the heroic underdog make up what the soul of our football club is? Not really. It's how we adapt and survive in the modern game. However, Farage is a massive fanny. | |
