Would you like me to come back on here and bang on about it again? Because, apparently, if you can't see it, it doesn't exist. Just, y'know, there are slightly more important things to consider right now. Ashton can still f off.

What do you need screenshots of his WhatsApp? He said he is in a group of 200 town fans, and the majority want him gone, that isn't the same as saying the majority of town fans want Ashton gone, although I genuinely think that might well be true. Even without all the people that want him gone because of the Reform nonsense his performance in the role over the last couple of years hasn't exactly been stellar.

What sort of 'facts' do you require? I think if you actually talk to people outside of your bubble you may actually be surprised. I'm not suggesting it's a majority of Town fans because I have no idea, I very much doubt you do either in spite of your earlier statement, but certainly the majority I know and converse with have those feelings. I'm not claiming it's just a few people either way, I suspect it's large numbers in both groups and that is a problem of Mr Ashton's making which the Club could do without. I'm intrigued as to why you are so certain in your views?

You wouldn't understand facts if they slapped you in the face - 200 fans on a group, "overwhelming majority" is not an unreasonable statement. But maybe you could join said group, then poll each and every person in it, or at least take a representative sample. You like to shout loud, condescend, misinterpret and misdirect. But you are not intelligent enough to know when to shut up. Because you like to have the last word. Going to be a long night of last words.

| Anyone still planning to boycott Saturday? on 22:22 - Apr 28 by rkc123 | I am not one who planned to boycott so not sure if this response is really relevant, but I have found since all the Ashton stuff my attitude towards the club is now similar to how things were under Evans. I want the team to do well, I support the players, manager and staff, and am still pleased when we win, sad when we don't. However, I no longer assume those at the top making decisions are always putting the club first, I don't assume a level of competence that I did before, and I will therefore no longer give the benefit of the doubt when issues arise regarding decisions made by Ashton and those above him. I still think Ashton should be replaced in his role at the earliest opportunity. [Post edited 28 Apr 22:43]

Badly presented, sure, but how the hell does that idea make me a prick?

Stop pretending you weren't on a wind up/trying to make some obscure point. How hard would it have been to write, 'not sure how many people are still boycotting home games over Ashton, but here's an idea for those that are.....'

Genuinely wasn't. It's an idea I had a few weeks ago mainly because I didn't want Rommers to miss a massive moment after following the team up and down the land during the sh1t times. I apologise for the poor presentation. It was absolutely posted with the best of intentions though.

Good night to poke my head back on here. Great game. Thought we were excellent. For the record, no I won’t be going and no I haven’t been since the Ashton lies came out. I hope we win Saturday. I shall feel over the moon if we do but a tiny bit sad I’ll be missing it. Have made plans in London for the weekend with the missus instead. Fancy 5 star hotel, a show, some drinks and a nice meal. Will do that and pretend the football doesn’t exist. Then at full time check the score. Gutted to miss it but that’s the route I went down and I stick by it. The abuse received as a result of my stance (not on here I might add) and the threats I received.. to then get zero contact from anyone at the club knot pushed me further into the mindset of wanting to stay away. I’m sure I’ll be told that makes me a wrongun etc by some so I shall bid adieu again as I wouldn’t wish to read that sh*t as it frankly got me down last time. Particularly the threat of speaking to my employment etc which were far too specific for my liking. Uppa Towen - hopefully I shall next see you all as a PremierLeague Ipswich fan.

Are people still upset with Ashton ? Blimey not one of my group have mentioned it for weeks and the majority Of us are left of centre. Move on. One more win and it’s premier league. Enjoy. Still 2.5 hours to ipswich and not sure I can stay awake much longer. Thankfully am not driving
| Anyone still planning to boycott Saturday? on 00:27 - Apr 29 with 412 views | bluelagos | Pub for me. Gutted tonight as it would have been special to see us promoted but a post and an offside meant it's not meant to be. Glad my ST has found a good home, and hopefully this summer will see a parting of ways with our CEO. To those going, I really hope it's a magical day, the team and fans deserve it. They looked gutted at FT but sure they can do the business v QPR. | |

Since you mention it, I’m mid-70s, have a degree, am left of centre, and am still strongly Ashton-out. I haven’t mentioned it for a few weeks because a) it hasn’t felt like the time or place during our last few promotion-pushing games; b) everyone who cares has already done their best to persuade our powers that be, who it’s clear aren’t going to be influenced by fans’ views now if they weren’t before; and c) even I’m bored with the constant reiterations falling on stony ground.

Yes, hence the idea. Trying to do something positive. I thought it was win, win, win. People would have got to go to the game knowing something positive had been done. There would be a full stadium to support the team hopefully getting over the line. Hope Not Hate would have got donations. In hindsight, poorly presented but came from a good place. Clearly there is no interest from most people who are boycotting which is fair enough.

Appreciate your good intent & acknowledgment that it was poorly presented; but fans who feel so passionately about a fundamental issue of conscience that they’re prepared to give up their STs after many years, aren’t likely to be swayed by any kind of tinkering work-around are they? they might even find it a bit insulting? It makes it difficult to gauge the current strength of hatred towards Ashton and determination that he has to go but, from upvotes and downvotes alone it is clearly heavily dividing the fanbase still. That is entirely on Ashton (and Gamechanger for not dealing with him). |
You really give impression you want Town to fail this weekend and then come on here all guns blazing , pathetic pal. LOOK where the team is , look where the club is as a whole.

I think you've been harshly treated in this thread, especially as you've explained yourself several times. However, all this would've been avoided if you'd just put your idea in the OP instead of being cryptic about it. Were you attempting to get more eyes on it with a bit more of a controversial OP?
