Come on admit it?! You’re absolutely hooked on the World Cup now 21:33 - Jun 15 with 2555 viewsunstableblue

Best sport in the world

Greatest sporting event in the world (apart form East Anglian derby)

And the quality levels across teams is high.. the playing field is maybe levelling?

Stadiums are pretty impressive to

Pitch concerns not materialised, and despite terrible ticket pricing, proper fans seem to be present

And England still to play

Other big game incoming

Think it’s just me but I really cannot get into it

Found every game I’ve seen absolutely dull

Maybe I’m still footballed out from last season

Wake me up at the knock out stages when there’s something on the games

The games are more enjoyable than the Premier League even if the quality is not yet at the same level. Not much corner grappling or diving, good refereeing, not too much var intervention although that could change.

I wonder if the players attitude changes slightly when they are playing for national pride rather than huge sums of money.

I've enjoyed most of the football so far. Maybe the quality isn't the same level but the games have had a nice flow to them (notwithstanding ad breaks), there's been less grappling/cheating at set pieces and I've hardly seen a centre-back or goalkeeper stand stock still for ages with the ball at their feet.

Not keen on many things, hydration breaks (understand why they are needed), the cut to the VAR team pre kick off, the general America of it.

The games though have been decent from what I've seen and a couple of big results for Qatar and Cape Verde. Japan and Netherlands was a good game. The mai thing is the actual footy which i cant fault

Not just you, I feel the same. Having been fortunate enough to have been to the World Cups in Germany and Russia I usually can’t wait to watch the tournament. However, this one I just can’t get into at the moment. Hopefully that will change when the knockout stages start.

“And that’s the end of the third quarter” said the commentator. So long as you’re okay with the game being fundamentally changed so FIFA can make more money, sure, great World Cup.

I said I wasn’t bothered but would catch the odd game if I was free.

Reality: watching every game I can including a recording of the odd night game. Loving it.

Honestly im not, Fair play those who enjoy it and I hope you continue too, but I just can;t stand it. Flat atmospheres, constant drink breaks, games that don't float my boat

Just not feeling it. Think I might skip it until the knock out stages tbh

Barely watched any so far. Watched the last 30 mins of the Belgium game tonight. It was hardly classic.....!
The 8 min highlights on BBC website are enough for me if I miss games for these group games.

Is it because the rules have change re corners etc for the World Cup.

Not sure you can compare games without those rules? Of course there is less of it.

I just like the idea of countries you wouldn't normally pit against each other playing each other, and seeing how they compare.

Love hearing the back stories of players and countries also, fairly impressed by the standard/energy of the games so far.

Watched 15 of the opener and that's it. Not into it, not wanting to overly support it and actually enjoying the football break. Timing of the fixtures really helps to avoid it, of course.

Nope being honest, nowhere near hooked on it.

Maybe that's because I have other things to focus on work and home stuff.

Watched bits of the Brazil game and most of the Netherlands v Japan last night. The later was fun....

But I am struggling to get over everything that has gone on prior and the hydration breaks etc that people are discussing currently.

So for me to date its all a bit meh imho.

Will tend to have 5/6pm and 8/9pm games on in the background but have probably watched (with uninterrupted focus) the equivalent of 2 to 3 full games in total. There's just not enough jeopardy for me to become fully immersed and I haven't got the hang of who is in which group yet.

Though, conversely, teams are maybe playing without such a fear of losing which has perhaps led to games being a bit more open and expansive. It may also help that teams have not had the same experience of 'systems' being drilled into them as they do at club level, so the attacks I have seen have been more aesthetically pleasing than in domestic league games.

I expect my interest will increase when the knock-out stages come round and then I will probably complain that the games have become tighter affairs and less fun!

As expected, the atmospheres seem to be suffering from the number of 'genuine' supporters travelling from each nation seeming to be such a minority. Those that are there at least seem to be making the most of it and the Japanese following seemed to add something to their game.

Wouldn't call myself 'hooked' by any means but trying to be objective and not negative just for the sake of it. It still beats having no football.

Yep, it’s brilliant isn’t it.

Ignore the usual dullards moaning about everything as per.

It's been great so far. A lot of the rule changes have resulted in less time-wasting and more enjoyable games. Although a farce, the impact of the "hydration break" aren't negative. More teams is better.

Me too, well into it despite being fairly determined beforehand not to be!

Not specifically stayed up for this, I'd have been up anyway, but it's brilliant to have something decent to watch/listen to at 3.23 am - and NZ have just scored again
