What are we all eating for lunch today then?

I'm on leave today so had time to do something proper.

Lamb kebabs, new potatoes from the garden, spicy homemade Coleslaw (mostly from garden), all drizzled with sriracha chilli sauce.

Proper tasty.

A fresh baguette with a cheese called ‘Black Bomber’. A really nice form of very strong cheddar. I might add a sliced tomato and some plain crisps to it for crunch.

Bit pathetic compared to lamb kebabs with chilli sauce, home grown potatoes and coleslaw. Sw1ne

Ha. My lunch is usually pretty basic tbh, just showing off a bit today as I had the time to make something.

Salmon fishcake with tartar sauce...packet of Paprika Max and an OJ while it was in the oven, some very nice strawberries to follow, and just about to attack some tinned peaches that have been cooling in the fridge.

Got home from pushing 3 hours on the bike in this heat, so anything requiring more effort than that wasn't going to happen!

I made a BLT with extra mayo and tomatoes on a baguette (working from home due to heat). I've also added a homemade couscous salad with roasted courgette, sultanas and finely chopped spring onions. Washed down with a San Pellegrino water.

I selected two structurally compatible slices of bread, which I placed upon a suitably level preparation surface. I then applied a layer of butter to one side of each slice before retrieving both cheese and chutney from my cold storage device. The cheese was applied exclusively to one of the aforementioned slices. This proved advantageous, as prior distribution across both slices would have complicated the subsequent assembly procedure.

Using a spoon to decant the chutney from its container, I applied it over the buttered surface of the remaining slice.

Now benefiting from my earlier decision regarding cheese placement, I combined both slices in a manner that left the unbuttered faces orientated outward. Employing an edged instrument, I then commenced subdivision of the completed structure into two equal sections along a diagonal axis.

Breaded Cod fillet, some McCains bizarrity which claims to be a cross between chips and crisps, peas, half a large carrot, tartare sauce - then a tangerine, Scotch pancake with butter and honey, two squares of 72% cocoa chocolate and some Tesco 'exotic' juice.

That sounds a complex operation well planned and successfully executed. Nice one!

Bit disappointed not to learn more of the elected form of serving of said culinary delight?

Did the dining experience take place on the aforementioned level preparation surface, or had it been moved to any other type of serving surface before consumption?

Well ask you asked, the final phase of the process saw me initiate the transfer of the resulting components from the aforementioned preparation surface to an adjacent ceramic serving platform that I had situated some minutes prior. I'm pleased to say the relocation was achieved without any significant displacement of the constituent fillings, preserving the structural integrity established during the assembly phase.

Fecking nice it was too.
