I think we're due a more complete footballing performance. Not in terms of laws of probability, but we've faced a couple of defensively minded sides in the 2nd and 3rd group games, the early DR Congo goal rendered that an exercise in attack v defence for the most part, against the lowest of blocks. On to Mexico in the altitude, with 10 men for most of the 2nd half, then Norway in 41 degrees real feel heat.
I reckon there's a lot of pent up desire to go and take the handbrake off a bit, under the roof in the AC, against a side that won't show us the level of respect others have. Could be a thriller. Chance to reach only our 2nd ever WC final and 1st on foreign shores.

I fancy us. My only hope is if we don't progress its because we've been beaten by a better side and not robbed by a decision. I don't buy fully into the conspiracy stuff but they do have a massive boner over Messi and dare say they're desperate for him to be in the final.
I reckon we'll do them though. Got to be whiter than white, keep our heads against their housery, and let the football do the talking. Need our big players to step up, if 4 or 5 of Jude, Kane, Gordon, Rice, Anderson, Saka can find big performances we've got an excellent chance. | | | |

I do think that a fully fit Rice and Anderson will be too good for the Argentinian spine and that Jude and Harry Kane will love it against their central defenders as well.

Spain and France should be an excellent battle of style’s… I like many predicted France for the whole thing before… but Spain have been quietly getting on with their thing..many times in the World Cup the best and most attractive team doesn’t necessarily win it as we all know….Sooooo Spain playing the tournament rather than opposition could pull it off.

I'm a little confused by why we "should have enough about us to win".
I'm of the opinion we are the 4th seed in a semi-final line up that is the top 4 seeds. It should lead to a France v Argentina final. That is also very unusual for any tournament to have progressed that neatly.
I see England as having a reasonable chance to reach the final and that is great. I think it is the spirit and togetherness that is most important along with the quality of Bellingham especially. However (although I haven't watched them), I suspect the same is true of Argentina where they will look to the quality of Messi but it will be ably supported by a collection of top players who, on paper, shade England's for quality.
England's most convincing performance so far has been winning by 2 goals v Croatia (whilst conceding twice) or beating Mexico in the Azteca. Argentina won all their group games by two goals and only conceded once. Meanwhile England have drawn with Ghana and struggled against DR Congo. Argentina struggled against Switzerland but not anyone else.
I think the defence will be the key and I haven't been convinced by England's in any of our matches. |  |

Egypt were two goals ahead but Argentina turned that around without needing extra time. I am not sure I can see England doing that to them but I can see them potentially doing it to England.
I just think Argentina are (on paper at least) a far better side than anything we have faced so far. On the other hand, the same can be said of England being far better than anything they have faced so far.

Pretty evenly matched from what I’ve seen. Both are a level down on France, as are Spain.
It’ll be an interesting game and there is some real grit about this England team that I don’t think I’ve seen before. I can see us shading it, if we get an even break from the Officials.

Was just reading there is a possibility of a delayed kick-off even though it's being played under a roof. If there are lightning strikes within the radius of the stadium then the 30 minute delay applies regardless of the roof.

I think an accumulation of a number of factors, including injuries, luck, Infantino, travel, illness, FIFA, Messi, tiredness, Infantino, heat, suspension, ability, Infantino, officiating, history and Infantino will prove to be a bridge too far for our brave boys.
I can see a narrow, potentially controversial, defeat.
I’m relatively comfortable with it, we’ve got a bit further than I thought we would and losing to the Frenchies in the final would be more of a sickener.
