Frustrated. Concerned about whether we will come through a (relatively) fruitful period for English football without a major trophy.
2 finals, 2 semis and a quarters in the last 5 tournaments. One quarter, two R16s and no knock out wins in the 5 before that. Three quarters, one R16 in the 5 before that.
England are now performing roughly where you would expect them to given their history and importance to the game. But now we need to push on to find that little bit extra to get us over the line. |  | | |

Disappointed as in ‘what was the point’. Like going for a night out, which you’ve been looking forward to, only for a few mates to say that they are only having a couple.

Annoyed that what had become an exciting and battling run to the semi-final ended with such a meek tactical surrender to a team we were matching and had managed to get ahead of.

Disappointed.
We had remained calm against the appalling tactics of Argentina, but as usual the ref allowed it to continue. Scored the goal to take it to 1-0 and it was in our hands.
Tuchel made mistakes, but I will say I was annoyed the players went backwards as soon as we scored, only a brilliant Spence tackle within minutes of us scoring stopped it being 1-1.
That is when Tuchel needed to change things, funnily enough he should have gone McKenna ball and like for like changes, ie Rashford on for Gordon.
But ultimately its that getting it over the line, its impacted England since 66. |  | | |

Probably the most deflated I've ever felt after an England game. Even more so than the two Euro finals. It was there for the taking and we blew it big time. Plus after that first half I was absolutely seething against Argentina, and the ****s got away with it. What really hurts is that after the last half an hour, Argentina deserved it. | | | |

That's the quickest I've got over it yet. First WC I watched was 1982. That was gutting. 1986 & 1990 was peak upset, for Sir Bobby. When England couldn't beat a 10 man Brazil in Japan in 2006 and Lampard's disallowed goal in 2010 I realised it's probably not going to happen and I'm now fine with that. It would be nice to be proved wrong, though.
