I'm going to enjoy seeing the harsh reality of the Prem bite them firmly on the arse. How long before "Super Frank" isn't so super anymore?

I'm particularly enjoying their confidence in signing Tomori, Acheampong, and Mudryk based on nothing more than history between their coach and Chelsea.

I look forward to Friday at 8pm when Arsenal will comfortably, and with little effort, dismantle them live on Sky.

Weird. I would gladly see them stay up. But I think they will struggle as they will discover (as we did) that the Premier League is very, very different to when they left.

Vibes, energy, and confidence can only get them half way through the season.

It will last a couple of months for sure.

I remember that 2-1 loss to Bournemouth being the moment all good vibes were lost for us in 24. That was a heartbreaker after not being able to get several over the line.

Coventry will hold out for an hour or so IMO before going down 2-0.

I think it would be the same for us and Hull. It's a horrible first game in terms of needing to avoid a thrashing to maintain confidence.

Lampard would probably be tempted if you offered a battling 1-0 loss right now.

I don't know why people care. I follow football closely but can't tell you anything about most players signed by clubs like Coventry and Hull. Yet if you believe online forums everyone has a scouting report on every player. Town or Coventry could be linked to a 17 year old Lithuanian playing in the third tier in Romania and 50%+ of both sites would be posting detailed opinions. I don't believe one Cov fan in 10 actually knows that much about Enciso.

It's all utter b0llocks.

Yeah I think that is b0llocks, there aren't any 17 Lithuanian's in Romania's 3rd tier.

I should know, I've got my scouting reports.

This is exactly it.. it’s all uneducated guess work bollox by fans thinking they know best. I’ll leave it to the professionals tbh and given we have a better idea of what might be needed to last time I’m optimistic that we should fair better. Good luck to Coventry themselves, be nice to see both clubs up in the middle of the table tbh.

Diop and Lukic are the classic type of players you hugely underestimate until you actually play against them and realise there is a reason they've played close to 300 PL games between them.

Exactly as we found last time. Not big names, just very good, proficient, skillful, dedicated professionals , who you'd never heard of, but looked a cut above anything we'd seen for years! Now we have some!

I don;t think it's any different to this place really is it? I mean I'm sure every board has it;s frimmers and tetris's and Elephants, etc!!

BTW - where is Elephant these days?

Elephant disappeared as soon as we gained promotion. Don't worry though, he'll be back as soon as we hit a sticky patch, blaming scattergun recruitment and the franchise.

Nothing club from a dump of a place. Best ignored.

My two mackem chums loath Coventry. Something to do with relegating them in the 70s and their endless whining after losing to Sunderland in the playoffs.

Like any contest nobody knows how the season will go until it really gets going. As once was famously said boxing is easy until you get punched in the face!

Nobody knows but... reckon collectively we are probably a better judge of these things than Coventry fans are though. It is an education watching the players you know well play a whole Premier League season, not just a one off cup match.

You think a player like Sasa Lukic is bang average until he's up against your players.

I dunno, bar a few wallies on there, it mostly seems to be "Seems a lot of money for a guy who's inconsistent. Could be madness, could be a genius move."

I kind of feel the same and have done since we were linked with him. When he was here last I felt like he was a magic player who could change a game, but didn't do it regularly. I know he's come on loads since then but I can't hand on heart say I think he's going to change our fortunes.

He might, he might not.

I've always had a strange fondness for Coventry that I can't tie down. Perhaps growing up in the 90s with both our teams being equally crap on FIFA 94 and 95 on the mega drive had something to do with it? Or maybe it was their demise alongside our own in the 2000s?

Because of that I'll put some of the absolute deluded and entitled nonsense spouted in their forum (eg a few of them STILL with sour grapes over our double-dismantling of them last season) down to a few unique individuals and assume that most of their fanbase are sensible and grounded.

I think the strangest part of the past 3 years has been just how unbearable and weird other fans have been about us - and it started long before Faragegate. Leeds and Leicester fans were often intolerable, Coventry and Hull are now following it up with being incredibly strange. Norwich fans are as they ever are

They are only talking like Town fans are. We really aren’t sure how we will go, Im expecting all three clubs who went up to get relegated.

We can be a bit pragmatic and not drag ourselves to their expected sensationalist responses....

Rudoni is 6'1", Enciso is 5'8" we've all commented on how physical this league is, so it's not a bad start.

Enciso is definitely faster and no arguments about his dribbling ability being way higher, but Rudoni is possibly a more rounded player at this moment in time.

Enciso is 22 though, so another year....he could be getting better and better, Rudoni could be in his prime this year though.

Let's just be excited about what we have, he'll get bums off seats and for that i'm grateful!

lol - by that logic John Cena would be a better signing than Messi…

5 g/a in 11 starts, he'll be doing brilliantly to affect games more often than that.

Wednesday and Plymouth in L1 too.

It’s only a few in most cases, which is no surprise as fans are just a cross section of society and the same the country over. Some people are great, some weird, some bellends.

It was before the Germans flattened it at the planners rebuilt it as cheaply and ugly as possible. I don’t like what they did to the cathedral either. They should have rebuilt the original one, as the Germans did. The replacement was designed by Basil Spence, or was it Basil Brush?

They seem really, really angry.

Looking back two years before our return to the premier League I think everybody here was quite excited. They just seem fuming. What a weird way to be.

They seem to think we've doent £39m sterling.... not Euros!

Id say they are actuslly afraid of us as they appear to want to trash every signing we've made and big up their players compared to ours. Very insecure of them....
