In a season of injuries, which one has cost us the most in the past?

Kuqi when we loaned in Scowcroft to cover him?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I was thinking Kuqi as well, then the shoddy performance at Wigan when we rushed him back

Always makes me laugh that people forget that BFJ was trying to get rid of shefki. Maybe he wanted to bring sammy parkin boooo in a bit earlier.

I have no memory of us loaning back Scowie whatsoever. Was he any good? Soccerbase would suggest not.

Frans Thijssen season 1981-82, only made 12 appearances & may well have cost us the title.

Kevin Beattie's broken arm against Man City in the 1981 FA Cup semi final?

It ruled him out of the subsequent league run-in, which saw us finish runners-up to Aston Villa.

Stewart 01/02 season. I love Armstrong, but that losing Marcus was the killer that season.

Pretty sure that was the same season we lost Darren Bent to multiple injuries. Very costly season.

McGoldrick 2014/2015

We were second and scraped into 6th on last day. Had he been fit we would have finished Top 2 OR been stronger come the Play Offs

Least costly injury.

Johnson, Wembley Stadium. May 2000.

Nothing against DJ of course as he is a Town legend in his own right, but that substitution turned that game.

Kuqi was awful when we first signed him. I'm talking Nouble and Sammon levels of bad. It was no surprise BFJ wanted him gone really, then he suddenly turned into the Finnish Pele.

I'll never watching him miss 3open goals in a game at Highfield road. It was also the game that I realised reuser was finished

It is possible they are different games, they often merge in when I look back

Not sure if he was 100% fit to start the game. Although the Johnson/Stewart partnership never worked.

In my time as a supporter, definitely Kuqi. That cost us promotion and ultimately led to where we are now.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

Can I just apologise on behalf of my wife about the Shefki injury v Leicester. We had a stadium tour and she kissed his jersey for luck.

We are still married.

80-81 he played about 4 out of last 12 or something. Think the semi was his last game until the UEFA cup final? Gates was so knackered at full, time in the semi he didn’t know there was extra time according to Paul Power. He went off after 10 minutes against Arsenal the following week to be replaced by Tommy Parkin, so Beattie, Gates, Thijssen, all out...

Not forgetting George Burley's long term injury that season.

I second this, top English scorer in the Prem the season before and also contributed a lot to our overall play up front. He and Scowcroft had a great partnership.

I don't think he was the same player after the injury but by then he was in a struggling team and moved on to another team that would struggle chronically (Sunderland).

Oh yes! Shrewsbury away. McCall did a fine job, but losing him as a squad player from a ‘big team with a small squad’ was so costly.
