CM options for Saturday 12:08 - Mar 17 with 2075 viewsBluefish

Who do we have?

Dozzell
Bishop
Skuse - somehow playing again after a year out
Judge - not a cm and no positional discipline
Lankester- not a cm
Gibbs - look far too young and more attack minded
Siziba - looked class in the cup at cdm but actually a wide player
Huws - seemingly retired
Hughes - what happened to him?

I wonder what the future holds for poor Emyr. Could very well see him as the sort of player that struggles to get a club when he leaves. Best thing he could do is drop his salary expectations, sign for a Newport County and play every week.

As for Saturday, tough away game so no p1ssing about. Let's go there for a fight and grind out a result. Absolutely vital we don't lose against them given it's a 6 pointer.

Matheson Chambers Wilson Ward
Judge Bishop Skuse Dozzell
Norwood Jackson

You've basically got the top 3 to use.

And they aren't good enough.

Pompey would laugh at a midfield 3 of Dozzell, Skuse, Bishop

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

It's a strange one with Huws. I thought at times last season he looked really good. This season he's looked completely shot and not at all right.

Yeah, we aren't in great shape in there.

There was a lot of chat about Cole Skuse being what we needed to get a bit of control in there, but it was classic "absence makes the heart grow fonder" stuff. We've been weak with Skuse in there plenty of times even before his injury, let alone now.

I know what you're thinking, it's mouth watering. It's got a bit of the Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta about it.

It would certainly be something to behold that’s for sure.

Even if just the comedy it would be a fantastic watch.

Skuse face planting the floor made the £10 worthwhile last night.

Agree, lightweight and a teensy-weensy bit iffeminate.....

Can't get in their team either, to the point that Ayr have used Corrie Ndaba as a DM a couple of times.

Bit weird, never thought he looked out of place when he played for us this season.

He’s a neat player.....but neat isn’t enough I’m afraid. I don’t see him having a future here.

I only saw Huws live at Villa when he scored the goal in our 1-0 win. He looked really good on that day.

Since we can't find a spot for our ball-playing centre-half, maybe Wolfie could be a sensible option as the holding player. Won't happen, but I personally would like to see it.

We could do worse.

I would stick with Dozzell plus one of either Bish or Downes next to him. Judge ahead of them. Scuse as backup (shouldn't be thrown into starting games after so long out imo).

Yep agree. Mentioned it on a few threads

Definitely worth a go really considering our other options.

I'd put judge next to wolfy.

Downes is out for at least a month so it won’t be him on Saturday!

Not for me. Dozzell is streets ahead even though he's still in his first season in this role. I've seen nothing to suggest Woolf is any better on the ball (quite the opposite). Let's keep square pegs in square holes.
