Bolton (H)
Lincoln (A)
Sheff Wed (H)
Doncaster (H)

What's your (a) predicted points (b) bare minimum to keep Cookie in the game?

I reckon 7 points (Win against Bolton and Wednesday, draw with Lincoln, lose to Doncaster) and the bare minimum is 4.

Knives will be out if it's anything less than seven I think.

When I looked at this last week I included Accrington on 2 October; we need nine points from the next five IMO. Even that only gives us 12 points from ten league matches.

For the bare minimum, then that is probably a point a game from those five but we need a win amongst them. I think if we win Saturday then in most scenarios we'll pick up enough points to get going, fail to do that though and it starts to look like 09-10 and 18-19.

Doncaster are pretty crap at the moment according to my mate who watched Rotherham beat them comfortably the other week (the league game not the EFL trophy this week).

Bolton (H) - Loss
Lincoln (A) - Loss
Sheff Wed (H) - Draw
Doncaster (H) - Win

And I think Cook will have a lot of questions to answer if that is the case.

I don't 4 will be enough. 3 games at home. the team has had 2 weeks more to "gel".

I would say 2 wins is a minimum so 6+

I would hope we get at least 8!

After Lincoln he would, but 4 points from Wednesday and Doncaster probably put him a position to say "look, we're getting there". Reverse the order of your results and he's bang in trouble.

Being more serious we need at least 2 wins, end of the month could get interesting if we dont achieve that

Minimum of seven really - beat Bolton and Doncaster, draw against Lincoln and lose to Wednesday (or switch the latter two results). What’s that then? Ten points from nine games?

We need to be aiming for a minimum of 7 points from those games, ideally more. Less than that is unlikely to see him lose his job (although if we lost all four I wonder if that might test the new regime's patience) but it won't do anything to quash the unease either.

Lincoln (A) 1
Sheff Wed (H) 1
Doncaster (H) 3

Minimum for his sake I think

It's got to be a minimum of 7, less than that and the task for the rest of the season becomes that much harder .

I'm still angry at Hladky's cock up at the end of the late game. Win that game and the whole mood will have been different over the last 2 weeks. We'd all be looking at the positives, despite a shaky end to that game.

Anything less than 7 and we are still going to be basically in the relegation zone as will have, at most, 1 point per game after 9 games.

We really need to get up to around 1.5 points per game pretty quickly, if we have any ideas of a strong run taking us to promotion - just to get there, which is just upper mid table form, will take 4 wins out of the next 5

Well, we are going to need Morsy back before any of that happens. At the moment, there's no one in the squad that looks like they can break up play in the midfield.

Hopefully the two weeks of training have lit something under Harper and Evans.

We can't sacrifice the first 8 games of the season because one player in our ridiculously overpowered squad isn't available - we need wins.

When did I suggest that we are going to sacrifice the first eight?

Of course we need wins. But without Morsy we are still going to be vulnerable through the midfield, unless as I said previously, the two weeks of training has had the desired effect, which we all hope it has.

Edmundson coming in should improve things, but as you know, we've not looked particularly good in the midfield defensively to date.

I don’t get the hype around Edmundson at the moment. It’s as though we could stick anyone in there and fans will be happier, just because they’re not Woolfenden.

I hope he’s a fantastic signing who hits the ground running once he’s fit but he’s only played 18 games at a higher level (10 in the Championship and 8 in the Scottish Premiership) so we shouldn’t be putting too much expectation on him.

Lose to Doncaster who got d*cked 6-0 at home by Rotherham?

If anything the danger team in that list is Sheff Weds...

I'd say, and be hopeful 9 from 12, or 10 from 12 at a push

Yep. Thats the one I'm most concerned about currently. If we're firing, who knows.
But, if it's still three strokes, and a misfire a draw would suit from that.

We have to win two games as the absolute minimum. Bolton and Doncaster home games look our best chance of 3 points. 7 points overall seems a minimum target.

We simply have to start winning though.

Can’t keep kicking the can down the road.

Do we NEED to beat Bolton Saturday? Is it a MUST win game. Not I suppose if you say 7 points overall from the 4 games.

BUT, we’re going to make it much much easier for ourselves if we go into Lincoln with 3 points under our belts. 6 games without a win, starts to look a real issue.

Let’s be honest, Wimbledon was a must win game. We didn’t win it.
