I think you're right but still not an easy game, can easily see it ending as a draw.
Barnsley are the bigger concern as you say, wonder if they have enough in the tank to see if through to the end. I think our strength in depth (outside of centre mid) is our biggest advantage right now, as well as players like Clarke and Broadhead coming into form at a perfect time. |  |

I'd not be surprised to see Derby get a result there to be honest. Plymouth haven't been hugely convincing of late so will be interesting to see how they go over their next few games, especially if we're able to continue winning and putting the pressure on them. |  |

As far as automatic promotion goes, it's do or die for Derby tonight - even Warne said so in his pre match comments. Hopefully they will be fired up and get the win, although a draw would be great for us too.
Plymouth will definitely drop points in their 'easy' run in but we aren't going to be perfect between now and the end of the season either. Can't help but feel these next two games are going to be crucial. We need to close the gap to at most 3 points really put the pressure on. [Post edited 7 Mar 2023 8:14]

those 3 away games at Bolton, Derby, Barnsley are going to be incredibly tough games for us to get 7 points out which is what i think we will need to get to have a chance.
In 51 games at home the 3 above have lost 8 games. it's Plymouth's to lose, 5 points ahead with those 3 games coming up, we Need them to lose 3 or 4 on the spin now for us to have a chance. |  | | |

It's certainly a tough game for Plymouth, but Plymouth are a very good side and have had a really good season - they certainly aren't 2nd by chance or luck - they are there on merit.

Nah, for me, the goal is to catch Plymouth. To do that they have to drop points and we have to pick up loads. Wanting them to drop as many as possible is optimal. Derby don't have any games in hand, and we play them. I back us. |  |

To overtake Plymouth we'd have to do well enough that we'd keep the teams behind us where they are anyway unless one of them has an absolutely mega run which we couldn't do much about anyway.

On the down side Mendes Lang and Barkhuisen like scoring gains us...
On the plus side Scarr back in contention (unlikely to start) and our strikers a re scoring again....
If we win this or Saturday then we should be close to ninth points even if we lose all the other away games...which we won't.
If we lose them both the door is ajar but you have some tough games.
Gut feel is we will know on Saturday evening if this is going to the wire or not...
