Size of ground, rather than stadium. 14:12 - May 31 with 2627 viewsPinewoodblue

With the Staples ground added do we have one of the largest grounds ,by area, in English football?

You'd imagine the big Big clubs have stadiums that are bigger than our grounds.

I think there's a few of the more stadia that have car parks around the perimeter, which probably dwarf ours.... Etihad campus is big, although I'm not sure how much of it Citeh actually own.... ( I'm not counting the training centre over the road, either).

United have a load of car parking space attached to old trafford too...

There's a load of car parks round Elland road too, but again, not sure who owns it all...

If car parks are included, the footprint of both The Valley and The Den are quite big, but not sure how that matches up v practice pitch and newly acquired land.. Earliest Park can't count their car park as it belongs to Sainsbury's.

is there a website dedicated to birds eye views of grounds?

With the new land, we're around the 10.5 acres as a site.

Norwich are about 9.25 (their car park is a fair size)

Spurs' stadium alone is 11 acres, the site is double that.

St James park is 13 acres

(these are all 'ish sizes btw lol)

Brighton's stadium is on a huge plot too....22 acres!

I can't be bothered to look any further, I suspect we're distinctly average.

Spurs was the one that came to my mind, it is massive. West Ham stadium has a very large footprint too

Although West Ham also have a very small footprint of what they actually paid for for theirs...

Who remembers going to Bramall Lane when it was also Yorks cricket ground? Large stadium, but only three stands. There probably was another one, but it was a long way away.....
No, not like Oxford.

Same as the old Northampton ground. Three sides and the TV camera was situated near the cricket square faced into the three sides.

Not sure if everyone would want to use a car park utilising Staples land, what with all those stray drawing pins lying all over the place.

It could be used for away supporters. Pen them in and give them all a periscope to see over the top of Churchmans. Benefits are 2000 plus more seats in the Cobbold Stand for home supporters, a whole new experience for away supporters.

Think of the unusual sight of periscopes swaying above Churchmans in unison and employment for the pack of dogs we could keep nearby to encourage them back to the station after the game before the ITFC supporters come out. And they each get a free drawing pin in memory of their visit.

Everyone wins!

Wasn’t taking car parking into account as no way of knowing if it is on club land.
