Just got to find a way to win on Saturday…. on 10:03 - Apr 11 with 4455 views | _clive_baker_ | Correct. By hook or by crook we need to be sat on 91 points on Saturday evening. We'll be at worst 2nd, at best top. We'll then have a break to recharge the batteries and come back strong for the 2 away games where at worst 'all' we'll have to achieve is matching Leeds results away at Boro and QPR. That would leave it in our own hands for the final day. Proper business end now, don't care how we do it but Saturday is a must win.

Would be nice to get 3 points on Saturday, put the pressure on them and then sit back and watch them cock up their 2 away games while we're chilling. Assuming we get the same result on Saturday, they will have the chance to be anywhere from -1 to +5 points on us by 26th April. When we go in to our 2 games in hand. At least we'll know our task in order to put it back in our hands going into the final day.

A win against Boro would put the pressure back on the others. And leave it still in our own hands. That's the key. 100 points will guarantee it, I expect we'll get 97. Yep I think we’ve simply run out of steam, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering the intensity we play at and it’s a higher level than last season. Morsy and Luongo and Davis are emblematic of this imo, though still putting in shifts. Every game is a one off cup final now. Beautiful engines can run on fumes for a short while and that is all we need now. COYFB

Lost Morgan Rogers as well, though have gained Finn Azaz and have Isiah Jones back who didn't play last time we faced them. Think it will be really tough - as you say we look knackered and there are clearly a few individuals playing who would probably be rested if we had nothing riding on these games. Hope is it's the last chance saloon for them to make a late push for the playoffs so won't be happy with a point which may make the game more open than yesterday which should suit us. I'm not really sure what suits us right now. Facing an attack-minded, gung-ho team will be hard for our leggy midfielders and full backs to stop. Teams are playing through us much easier than they were earlier in the season.

Just got to find a way to win on Saturday…. on 17:59 - Apr 11 with 3256 views | cbower | You're right Joe. Just win. Any performance as long as it's a win. If Moore had buried his header, we would have been lauding a professional display. Fine margins. Just wish, when a team is getting plenty behind the ball ( like Watford), we would movevthe ball quicker. In this respect, Burns is a real miss as he is an outlet to increase our tempo. In the 2nd half last night, over passing at times just allowed them to get back and retain shape over and over. As at Norwich, Hutchinson had lots of the ball but hung on too long and either a cross or shot was repeatedly snuffed out.

I thought we had a decent bit of zip for half an hour or so last night, which was a bit of an improvement over the last game and possibly a couple before that. Given Watford's strategy, I took a bit of encouragement that maybe we are getting over the 'illness' a little, and we might have a bit more again for Saturday. Then, with a two week break, we'll come back as fresh as lovely little blue daisies, and rip the hell out of our last three games. COYB!

I know it could put pressure on but I think it’s quite advantageous as we’ll know what is needed to some extent. Ie if draws are actually quite valuable or if we need to win every game. Obviously we’ll go out to win each game from the outset but if Leeds have a bit of a mare and drop several points before our final week it will certainly help the mindset if drawing a game with not long to go but finding ourselves right up against it due to opposition playing fantasticly well or a red card for example. Where as if we know only 2 wins will do in the two away games our mindset is clear and we just have to go for it.

The run ins are ridiculously similar as well Ipswich - 4 left to play. Average position of opposition = 11.75 Leicester - 5 left. Av 11 Leeds - 4 left. Av 11.75

That Moore header was so bloody frustrating. He did everything right by judging the cross perfectly, jumping above his man and was in the perfect position to notch it. It was a really, really poor header in the end. Straight at the keeper when either side would have gone in. It seemed he was just going for power rather than placement, which is a frustration of mine with some of our "finishing". It's not all about power, placement can be even more important. Burns is guilty of that too at times, he could score even more if he took a split second to place it rather than blast it. He did exactly that for the bender goal, but too often he just smashes it.

That header really was a golden chance, the sort you need to be taking in tight games where the opposition aren't going to give you much. His half chance from the Jackson cut back was much tougher but you'd hope a striker with decent pedigree would bury one of those two chances. That changes the game and you'd fancy us to then have more chances second half on the counter. Against Saints we were clinical in a tight game but the games since and the Blackburn game we've not had that clinical edge. Hopefully we can rediscover it tomorrow.

I think we are better suited to playing Middlesborough. Of course they could still beat us, but they won't sit back and play for the draw or to nick a win like Watford. Middlesborough need to win to maintain their slim hopes of the playoffs.
