McKenna - Banner - FAO Blue Action 04:41 - Oct 5 with 2871 viewsvictorysquad

As we know from the Robson and Ramsey era's, our best chance of lifting silverware again, or going back into Europe and being remotely competitive is to have a great manager.

Well, we have one right now, there is no doubt about it. What in an ideal world does success for McKenna here look like in terms of time and / or achievement?

I think it would be worth doing a sign of some sort to maybe echo our sentiments directly to the Kieron. The reason I think we should do it sooner rather than later is we can at least put our position across to him early doors, before the inevitable offers start rolling in again.

But the question is, what would that message look like?

"McKenna, 5 more years"
"Take us back to Europe"

.....

any thoughts? naff idea?

btw: I would be happy to sponsor any such sign, I think it is important to get our message across, let him know. I know he probably already knows, but I don't think you can beat making your feelings crystal clear.

Would be great but would also enrage the lower north stand because they wouldn’t be able to see the teams walk out.

Didn't they do a Lambo banner? Look how well that worked out.

Worried about jinxing effect.

Kieran knows what we think of him - do we need a symbol.?

He'll leave us when the time is right for him. Don't think a banner will sway him either way.

You want a banner demanding KM stay at Ipswich and qualify for Europe?

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

I think McKenna knows how much he’s appreciated and how the fans feel about him. And I think that was a factor when signing his new deal in the summer and will be a factor when future offers come in, but he’s also someone who considers every option and isn’t just going to stay because the fans want him to.

What I would love to see at some point, is a full European style tifo at some point. ‘Morsy and McKennas men’ written at the bottom and then pictures of McKenna and the full squad surrounding him. Would be a lot of work and the club would need to be right behind it but could look incredible.

Funny thing is, the banner didn't bother me really. However the entitlement of BA and associates afterwards has put me right off them (your unnecessarily snidey post just another example)

For balance, I think BA are bloody brilliant, and I sit (stand) in NSL.

A huge McKenna TIFO is a great idea on 09:35 - Oct 5 with 2261 viewsunstableblue

Time to thank him for staying and being just so bloody good

Prefer - “you do so we can dream”
Or - “he knows exactly what we need”

Would hope North Stand would be up for it this time - I saw Blue Action’s latest in the Cobbold on Insta and pretty good but away fans don’t see it there for one

Doubt a TIFO will swing McKenna’s career plans - but every little helps!!

Made me chuckle and very undeserving of the downvotes. Genuinely can't believe how upset people got about this lol

I think it was just unfortunate timing,
first time in 20 years
Watching us walk out alongside Liverpool and it did cover the view
But i got the effort that must have gone into that
And it was for the players and the coaching team not for the fans. I think people should have sucked it up a bit. But the lower North is not what it once was so there is a slightly different set of supporters compared to 25

*not what it once was as it's largely the same set of supporters compared to 25 years ago.

Could totally understand the upset if a massive todo had been unveiled as the game kicked off, but we wouldn’t have done that in the first place.

I wondered how/why a 'Tifo' is called that, so googled it - interesting -

"The word tifo comes from the Italian word for typhus fever, which can cause delirium. The term is used to describe a visual display or choreography performed by football supporters in the stands before a match. The term tifosi is used to describe the supporters who perform the tifo, which is the Italian word for "those infected with typhus".

"The tifo culture originated in Italy and Southern Europe in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and is also prevalent in Eastern Europe. It is similar to the ultras culture."

Maybe you should have tried communicating more effectively ahead of the game and/or showing some degree of contrition afterwards.

Had been a supporter of BA up until then but the tone deaf response to a bit of criticism lost me.
