Can anyone honestly see us staying up now? 16:44 - Feb 22 with 6037 viewsnoggin

Great effort today and some really good individual performances but we look destined to relegation now. Oh well, Uppa Town.

I remain hopeful but it’s looking less likely with every game

Possible but very unlikely now. I would say about 10% chance. Would need to win against Wolves and Leicester as well as picking up some other results.

No. Sorry.

Southampton killed me really. I was kind of optimistic today but stars just aren't aligning and we aren't good enough are we.

We've been naive too many times and there's been too many misses in our recruitment.

I still look back to Fulham with a wistful 'what if Clarke's shot went anywhere but smack against the post'.

Yeah, it was always an uphill battle and the possibility has just decreased a bit, but it's far from over yet. I'm sure there's more twists and turns to come.

No. Wed need a run of wins which I just can't see happening.

What we need to do now though is see the same lineup that may play together next season. Still include the likes of delap and Davis. Phillips etc
But keep using clarke. Philogene and hutch as the forward line so they can become what we had in chappers. Broadhead and burns.

a niche perspective

We’re going to finish 19th within a point or so of Leicester, no promoted team will get above 30pts.

It's the GD that's getting me, we're just not getting any luck - scandalous referee ignoring head injury protocol, leading to their 4th today.

Not to mention our ill luck with injuries - Enciso the latest feels like straw>camel's back.

I'm normally a mega-optimist, but gut says we're wrong side of the bar now.

As soon as we signed that scummer Godfrey that was a bad and omen for me.

It’s about pride and keeping the squad together for next season

Sadly not. I think that was the final nail today, firmly hammered in by Wolves’ surprise win.

I cannot see any way in how we survive now, and it’s going to be a second season in a row that all 3 promoted teams have faced the drop, which just proves how much bigger the gulf is getting.

Had fairly high expectations pre-season (thought we’d compete better and predicted a 14th place finish). Oh well, the EPL is overrated anyway, much prefer the football league.

Not a hope in hell.

Not sure about the individual performances that were supposedly good IMO.

It's going to be tight, but I predicted a 17th finish at the start of the season and I won't change my mind. Certainly the overweight lady is starting to practice.

Strangely I didn't think a 1-4 defeat was a fair reflection of how we played. Although as Sir Alex always said the only stat in football which counts is goals scored versus goals conceded. If Delap scores one of those two chances in the first 5 mins, it would have been a different game, Spurs were all over the place.

Thought Omari was alright as was O’Shea but personally not ‘really good’.

The table doesnt lie at this point in the season. Weve come up short. No shame in that, guven where we were 3 seasons ago.

We feel like we’re ebbing away at the moment, and where we have been unlucky in a number of instances, the nagging doubt has always been that despite Delap, we aren’t clinical enough at either of the pitch and we’re just not quite good enough.

There’s no disgrace in that, staying up would always have been a bigger achievement than the double promotion and so it’s proving.
