How has no-one mentioned 1991-92 on this thread, Lyall's promotion season. Definitely my favourite. Was at sixth form, discovering alcohol and girls (not very well on that front, it has to be said) and a big group of us going to all the home games and most of the away ones, especially from Christmas onwards.
TWTD.
I would then go for 2000-01, 1999-2000, 1998-99, 1997-98 and 1992-93.
2003-04, 2004-05, and 2014-15 also get honourable mentions.

....by a country mile.
The home games against Blackburn and Newcastle are particular memories.
As well as the obvious away days at Southend and Oxford.

Newcastle especially was a great day. Sun, big crowd, cracking goals, crazy surges and swaying in the north stand. Kiwomya my lord getting in trouble for “running over to our boys in the west stand”
My top 10 seasons are probably my first ten, If anything I'd rate 1974-75 qs the best (and worst) time to be a Town fan... better even than the UEFA cup run of 1973 which was unforgettable because it was so unexpected.
Looking back at Beattie in his short-lived prime with Hunter... If only David Best and Colin Harper had survived the Lazio game history may have been very different.
1980-81 was a disappointment for me.... the team should have achieved so much more... and 'we' kind of took relative success for granted back then. In 1975 anything seemed possible
For me it can only be 1961/62 first. 1980/81 for what was and what could/should have been. 1977/78 for the ending although it was just about the worst league season under SBR. 1999/2000 for the ending and much of what happened. 1991/92 because it was not really expected. 2000/01 also because it was not expected. 1974/75 near misses in league and cup. 1967/68 back to the top division. 2004/05 another nearly season. 2014/15 what might have been.
I would include 1960/61 but I do not remember too much of it and not sure how much of it I actually saw.

Absolutely none since Evans took over. I loved Burley’s run up to the promotion season. Even the near misses the years before we’re a roller coaster of emotions. And there’s was a feeling of building momentum (the opposite of the last 10-12 years). I saw a lot of away games in that period 98/99-03/04 as I was in the NW by then; so the Bolton PO final, all the PL games in the midlands & NW.
Every season from 76/77-80/81 was great, but as a fairly young kid I didn’t really appreciate them. Still have some great vivid recollections from games in that period though.
89/90-91/92 were the first seasons when I hit the road as I’d moved away to College. Me and a Watford supporting mate would alternate away games between our clubs; great fun.
Not a top 10 as such. My time supporting us breaks down into chunks depending on where I was living and other things going on. 2008-on has been a bit crap as kids have taken over and I get to only a few games a season these days.

I reckon we should sack the manager every time we lose a game
1979-80 - simply because it was my first venture into Portman Road. We finished third that season, going on an amazing unbeaten run from December onwards, including victories over Man U by 6 to 0 and Norwich by 4 to 2.
1991-92 - promotion season with lots of 1,0 and 2,1 victories. It was such an assured season.
2000-01 - what a great story and some real scalps.
I will always be grateful for what Town did in the background while all that was going on. By the start of 2001-02, I was in a new relationship, work and family issues had all calmed down and I was about to move out of home for the first time. I was demonstrably and recognisably genuinely happy with my life. And at that point, ITFC began their ongoing nose dive...

That was the last game I done in the North Stand that season as I alternated between there and J Block, and it was just incredible. If Rommy was a few years older, he would have said scenes x1000. The Old North was just fantastic on the big occassion and you'd always end up standing a few rows further forward than you started.

My first ever game but funnily enough my overriding memory from the game was the goal Gavin peacock scored, a cracker which has always stayed with me.
That and the Leighton Baines 2004/2005 against Wigan were probably the best I can remember at Portman road.
