There are 24 Cat 1 academies, 16 in the Premier League, 7 in the Championship, 1 in League One (Sunderland).

Only 3 other clubs in League One have a Cat 2 academy like Ipswich: Charlton, Crewe, Hull. There's one other Cat 2 club in the league below (Colchester).

Most successful entities share visions and plans openly and in relative detail to their main stakeholders.

I was going to write up a load of things, but read this (in its entirety) and tell me it wouldn't be helpful.

It's important in our business and we've seen real changes in the past couple of years.

A long term plan that actually has some substance and isn't just Season Ticket marketing

Good training facilities

He is, I asked the other day to confirm he was still around following the change of manager. Not sure Lambert utilised him particularly. Think there will be changes on recruitment in the summer though, on top of changes previously made in the summer of 2019.

That is a very good point and one which I'm sure ME made to PL when he was suggesting we ought to have an infrastructure along the lines of Borussia Dortmund or Celtic.

Having said that, Lee O'Neill's role is essentially director of football, albeit with the manager having more control than is usually the case.
