“We are here to help the Club climb the football pyramid. Promotion to the Championship as soon as possible is the immediate aim. It’s possible this season but if it takes another year or so, so be it."

Probably because it's obvious he won't take us up next year, either.

Bit of a difference between competing for promotion and just missing out to being no where near it and worse than a Paul Lambert team.

Failure to achieve promotion will mean likely another large(albeit not as big as summer just gone) and the start of another 'slow build'.

Plus, this is out THIRD season in the third division.
Every season we stay down harms our gates, makes us less attractive to TV and to new fans and is frankly, embarrassing.

Do you think they've seen enough from this squad under Cooks tutelage to believe he can deliver this season or next?

Are you happy with the general direction of travel the club appears to be moving in? For me, there are too many backwards steps for every forwards one at the moment.

I felt he should go after the Bolton home performance. He then seemed to turn things around and I felt maybe he had put things right. But now we seem back to square one.

Worse than the Paul Lambert team he inherited.

If Hurst was still in charge or Lambert, could you envisage the club being in a worse position than it is now? Maybe that is an indicator that we should be giving managers even longer but I think it is more an indicator that Cook is not taking us forwards.

He's hardly going to say 'if it's not this season we will sack the manager' is he?
If we were around the playoffs all season and just miss out that's one thing, but to be consistently mid table and even lower half is just not good enough given the resources that PC has been given.
Ashton and the owners will be painfully aware of the cost of missing promotion this year...

Harms our gates? Sorry, but aren't our crowds as high as they've been for a while and increasing?

A long way from being worse than the team Paul Lambert left us with however Paul Cook has failed with both.

So, this is season two of us not getting promoted under Cook. We should have done better after he came in last season and he’s failed again now. Just how much patience do you think might be required here?

Lambert's highest league position was 11th?

That is news to me!

If the team is better but the league position constantly is, then that is an even worse performance!

People are not going to turn out for intermittently entertaining football.

They didn't in the Championship and they're definitely not in the third division.

Fan expectations are definitely the issue, what with currently being mid table in League One with very little signs of consistent improvement.

Can’t really climb the football pyramid (not even) half way through the season.

Well we can, we can climb about 10 places currently, and unless we climb a few in the next month or two I really think he's toast.
