Outrageous, they could have sold loads of these.
Part of me can see there being a partial climbdown if there's enough of a fuss, with a limited edition release being made, albeit at a higher-than-usual price.
That, or they'll auction off the match-worn shirts for charity.

That would seem odd, given how well the home and away shirts have flown off the shelves, and the general popularity of black kits.
I'm speculating completely, although it wouldn't surprise me if an organisation the size of Adidas did have relatively high MOQs to justify a run of production. I like the kit, but I know historically 3rd shirts haven't sold all that well compared to the home or away.

Could this potentially become the away kit next season, getting promoted from 3rd shirt?

I think I saw 5k shirts minimum mentioned when people were previously asking about the possibility of long-sleeved replicas.

That would seem the most logical explanation to me.
It's a shame, as they'll no doubt just end up in the Suffolk Show kit-room clearance in much the same way as the other 3rd shirts have done in recent years.

It's particularly challenging when you consider the number of SKUs they would need to order, with all the different sizing across junior and adult etc. If it's a 1 size fits all item like a hat or something it's less of a problem.
3rd Kit?! by Leeds_Blue9 Nov 2021 21:04 I know it’ll probably be the Barca tribute kit that we use if and when we have to, however with the release of Football Manager 22 they’re claiming our 3rd kit is grey and black stripes. This could just be me being ignorant and it just being a template FM22 kit but it even has the correct sponsor on it! Have they released the kit without the club doing so or am I just trying to explain the black and grey kit in my head?
