Filth ridden tvvats. If they are recognised they’re passports should be confiscated for ten years and banned from domestic football grounds for life.

But compared to the hooligans of the 70s and 80s throwing plastic chairs is quite pathetic. I don’t know why FIFA or UEFA didn’t ban england from major tournaments back then. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Because punishing a whole fan base because of the actions of a minority would do little other than satisy a baying mob's taste for retribution. See also the introduction of ID for fans, compulsory membership schemes, banning away fans and electric fences. All tried, all ill thought desperate measures. All to satisfy Mr Angry whilst demonsing football fans, the vast majority of whom were never involved in football violence. You did ask :-)

It feels a bit more like a proper World Cup now on 18:12 - Nov 26 with 3513 views | Churchman | After the disgrace of the Euros I was in favour of a long ban on England playing international matches. 10 years minimum to give people time to think about it. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12437592/england-handed-wembley-st I haven’t changed my mind. No England football team, reduced football related violence. You could argue why should the innocent pay for the minority? But why should people who want to travel abroad from all countries be exposed to that? At the very least, anyone convicted abroad for violence, football or otherwise should be slapped with a criminal record, a lifetime travel ban and no right of appeal. People then know up front the consequences should they choose to get lagered up and have a ruck. Just a view, albeit a depressing, reactionary, extreme one.

Don't be ridiculous! This is a few dozen beer'ed up morons in Tenerife. It's happened for decades but there are camera phones everywhere now. The Euros final day was shameful but not an accurate reflection of real England fans these days IMO. Just like twitter stuff after the final, it's a disgusting few (as well some targeted stuff from abroad) but not reflective overall of society. The trouble with that day was it was open to the entire country to take a train, get charged up and try their luck, it's not overly surprising 10-20k gave it a go. A badly policed situation with idiots ruining it. I'm just glad no one was seriously hurt. I couldn't imagine taking my little nephew to that game paying thousands for a ticket and dealing with that. I'll admit to not always being an angel in my younger days but everyone grows out of that nonsense. The total disregard for public safety and people around others was shocking and I'd have never been apart of anything like that crap. So while I'm not excusing any of the above I am also not overly surprised that it happened, especially at the tail end of restrictions. England has always had a problem with anti social behavior, for whatever reason. I've been to big events where you have to show your ticket miles from the ground on various check points. You can't ruin an entire crop of young players careers and 55M people enjoyment because of some idiots. Police it better and ban them, fine but this is a massive overreaction. England fans were a lot worse in the past. Now it's a few too many beers being sunk by people that have seen some hooliganism films rather than organized chaos of the years gone by.

It is a points based system very similar to what they use on QI. E.g. a perfectly executed punch gets plus points, but you get negative scores for swinging, windmilling, extra deductions for doing those and missing, missing and falling, falling due to the unexpected impact of your windmill landing and knocking you off balance, and there is a similar system for comedy kicks. Of course, the major difference that has been somewhat problematic in scoring these, is in QI there is only one Alan Davies.

It wouldn't stop them though would it. They'd still be boozed up twits, they just wouldn't be associated with the England team.
