Indeed "Wray’s public endorsement of the lab leak theory runs counter to the conclusions of several prominent scientific studies, as well as the assessments of some other US intelligence agencies. Wray did not explain the evidence that had informed the FBI’s conclusion. “There’s not a whole lot of details I can share that aren’t classified,” he said. The Central Intelligence Agency and another prominent US federal agency still remain undecided about the origins of Covid-19, while the National Intelligence Council and four other agencies have concluded that the virus originated in animals, the Wall Street Journal reported this week."

It was almost considered a racist or xenophobic accusation at one point, probably about the same time they renamed it to Covid from Wuhan. But to be fair, 4 other US agencies aren't backing this opinion yet. Edit: oops too slow with the other agencies point - apologies for the repetition. [Post edited 1 Mar 2023 11:12]

It was more that Trump’s comments were fuelling hate crimes against Asian Americans.

So the FBI say… on 11:22 - Mar 1 with 3955 views | SlippinJimmyJuan | Never really understood why people were so quick to dismiss the idea that it came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, one of the world's premier laboratories for the study of coronaviruses. Maybe because the key proponents of the theory were all historically anti-China in rhetoric/had a bad relationship with facts. As I understand it, nearly all pandemics have been caused by spillover - what was theorised to have happened at the Wuhan wet market. However, I recall it was the Russian flu in the 70s that is thought to have come from a lab accident. So not beyond the bounds of possibility, especially when you consider the secrecy of China. I imagine people took issue with Trump labelling it the Chinese virus because the US is a country with a large Chinese population, and those unfounded words could easily lead to scapegoating of the average Chinese American, rather than be directed at the state. It was irresponsible to call it that without being able to prove it, even more so by tossing it out so freely to his legions of lunatic fans.

Why is pandemic in quotes? Capitalists being capitalists and getting rich at the expense of the poor is one thing but I'm not sure that means the pandemic didn't happen and / or was manufactured.

The pandemic was about over half a billion people officially infected by a novel virus that led to the deaths of over 6 million people and counting. No inverted commas required. You have a point about how our response to it was skewed towards business and opportunities for the already wealthy, with the majority having to make almost all the sacrifices and also pay for the response.

It appears a massive overreaction either intended or later coopted to capitals purpose. Covids a cough (coughs kill if you're old or ill) and the pandemic was a big fake.

Even if we go by the reported deaths (that would be underreported), COVID19 has killed over 7million people. The likelihood is that the amount of deaths were much higher than that. And that's with the fairly extreme measures that many nations took. It was not a "sniffle".
