Thanks for that Illi, after what I have just disclosed, that makes me feel so much better! If D'Avray had not been assaulted in the first half, swallowing his tongue I beleive, or Sunderland had taken his opportunity, that could of been one hell of a night!

The goal at 1:30 sticks out from recent years. It's mental how bad we were that season.
In fact any goal from that game....

I remember that was the game for me when I was finally sure we'd go down, having tried to cling to a scrap of optimism before then. Millwall didn't play particularly well and IIRC were rubbish that season and weren't far off getting relegated themselves, but we just found a way to completely throw the game away to them. You could tell that first goal, or from the pen being awarded, it just knocked whatever stuffing we had right out of us.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
There was no way to avoid the relegation with defending like this. Before anyone points out at Lambert or Hurst for that season it needs to be said that 4 out of 5 (goalie and defence) were the players with the big Championship experience. Totally careless, schoolboy defending and no wonder we got down with such awful team.

We deserved to go down for having red stripes on white shorts. Some stunningly bad defending on show. What a circus we were.

They put Morison on our left back second half and he won everything, not sure if it was Kenlock or a loanee, but Lambert had decided to drop Knudsen to teach him a lesson on his contract, which was the club's fault anyway, and just did nothing to change it.
Other than Bolton away, which is a big fking but, Andy Marshall didn't cost us too much in that relegation season, in 2002-03 on the other hand there are about ten goals where he dives over the ball or tamely watches it nestle into the goal.

Same here, I just felt completely gutted after that and knew we were done for, the season ended there and then for me.

Cost us promotion on his own.
Christ, I'm having flashbacks now. Yes, the number of times a tame shot from the edge of the area was hit and you'd be saying to yourself "It's fine, easy save for the keeper" and then somehow the ball found its way through him. Utterly hopeless.
I’ve not time to look but a few years back we conceded 2 at Leeds so we such bad defending someone but the benny hill chase music and sound effects over the video clips on them
Berra getting sent off just felt like an absolute sickner. I know we scored but couldnt help and feel that we would have been right in the game with 11 men. You can't control your instincts I guess but definitely left a 'What if' stain on the match.

First goal around 10 seconds in
1 town player even attempted to jump for the ball, gerken pushes it backwards, with a weak hand, behind him from under the goal line
if we werent so shockingly bad that season i'd have wanted an FA investigation into a possible betting scandal
As soon as Nsiala begins to move out at that 2nd corner it's obvious what's about to happen - totally brainless bit of defending that summed up his time here.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
That one vs Sunderland where chambers lost the inability to function is high on my list. For an experienced player, and captain, to do that was the stuff of nightmares.

Putney I think was given a bettering too if I remember rightly? Quite a day/night up there, I didn’t go back for years.

Yes, it was Kenlock at LB. Kenlock wasn't good enough defensively - even Paul Hurst could see that - but Lambert restored him to the team & gave him a new 3 year contract! This is the same Paul Lambert who was convinced Donacien wasn't good enough for us & wasn't a full back.
