I'd be happy with a draw I think. Stoke have clearly thrown some cash around, and the goblin knows how to get an effective team at this level. Its going to be a big test for us.
Sunderland away, then Stoke, is a tough start to the season. Get through it unbeaten and I'll be feeling optimistic. It's going to take a little while to acclimatise to the Championship after a few years of teams just sitting back and not trying to take the game to us. I'm sure there will be a few bumps in the road, and we'll no doubt tweak things a bit in our approach as the season evolves. |  |

I think we'll win. Bizarrrly, given that we won, i wouldn't be surprised if other teams look at our performance at sunderland and think we can be got at, leaving lots of space for broadhead and chaplin to do their thing. |  |

Think Stoke are very dangerous and it'll be a tough match. Big home crowd has to keep its nerve when, inevitably, it doesn't see the sort of domination right from the off that it's been used to for the past year.
We know we can score goals and probably our best (or most useful) quality is when we're on it we look like scoring every time we go forwards.
A bit like last week, score draw seems most likely but maybe we'll find something to get a win over the line. |  |

I think it's very difficult to predict an Ipswich score right now. Last Saturday we could have lost easily, or won easily (if Chappers bar bash had gone in or the pen given). Stoke having so many new players adds an extra level of prediction difficulty - will they be fantastic strangers?
If I were a betting man I'd steer well clear of this, but to play your game I'll go 3-1 Town. I think Stoke'll score from an individual bit of brilliance, but seeing the chances we created at one of the hardest trips last weekend makes me think we'll create a few again. And I'm an optimist. |  |

A very tough game.
Stokes midfield of Pearson Laurent and Daniel Johnson (who is so good to watch) is a top midfield at this level imo. Combined with Mcnally, Stevens, Hoever the defence has a bit of everything. Then they have the winger vidigal who got two goals last week but is still a bit of an unknown quantity.
The key for us is midfield. Morsy and Luongo need to make sure we don't give Johnson too much time on the ball, because he can pick teams apart if you give him half a chance.
But we looked really dangerous going forward vs Sunderland I thought. No reason we cant win. |  |

I'd absolutely take a draw on the back of last weekend, it would make for a very solid start indeed. As one or two others have said, a lot of these games feel like coin tosses at the moment. It's going to be a season of very fine margins and a game like this – at home against a side that will probably be good but not stellar – is a nice early test, a point will be fine. | |

When the fixtures were released my immediate thought was oh hell that’s a tough start but if teams like Sunderland, Stoke and Leeds are going to be up there come the end of the season it is probably best to play them early before they gel. Stoke fans seem very confident tomorrow in their forum, we are just carrot crunchers with league one players that were lucky against Sunderland, a 4-0 away win mentioned.
I'm sure we'll score, looked like we could score anytime we went forward last week so just depends on how much of the ball we'll see.
