OK, so fan is probably overstating it, but I don't mind January.
Gets a bit lighter every day, signs of renewal in the garden as bulbs pop their heads up and buds form on trees, and I quite like properly crisp and cold days.
Happy (ish) days!
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
If we had proper january, I would be a fan... Cold and crisp is good... what we've had so far is wind and p**sing rain, non stop, barely getting light.
The weather is absolutely rank. (n/t) by BlueBadger2 Jan 2024 16:02 January is the Paul Lambert of months - idiots will tell you you it's the fresh start we need, it's actually relentlessly miserable and depressing and hangs around far too long.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Give me summer any day.
Clearly summer is better. My ranking of the seasons is as follows:
Spring Summer Winter
Autumn

Completely agree. Much better than November and December - November being the absolute worst month of the year, just after the clocks go back - dark at 3pm, barely light before 8am.

So, you're aren't a fan?

December's only redeeming feature is Christmas!
I like that most of December is silly season thanks to Christmas and effectively a bit of a write off. Were it not for that I think winter would ruin me.
January is OK, I don't mind it, gets a bad rep. A bit of a nothing month, I tend to view it as a bit of a reset month, recover and detox a little after the festivities. Before February brings slightly longer days, really good sport in both football and 6 nations, and the promise of Spring not far away.

F’ck January. The most depressing of the winter months I think.
Genuinely do not understand people who say they're going vegan or stopping drinking for January. It's the worst month of the year, why stop doing stuff you enjoy and make it worse?

There are more hours of daylight in November than there are in January.
