If he stays, I think the only way to draw a line under this is for him to sign a new deal - hopefully with either no or an incredible release clause to it (maybe with a 'lesser' exception for Manchester United).

Kieran McKenna is single-handedly responsible for 12,746 hours of Town fans' lost sleep

Yes, and it's not back. He never left.

And for all we know, never was going to.

I'm still sceptical until I see an Ipswich Town tweet

Reading between the lines he may have turned down Brightons advances, I just hope this isn't agent led news to force Uniteds hand.

Fingers crossed, our chances of staying up are so much improved if he is with us for another season.

Obviously - I tried to tell everyone 5 days ago:

BBC saying McKenna and Pert want to move on by Cafe_Newman 22 May 2024 21:33
My take:
KMcK is staying at Town for another year (minimum), though most likely just a year.
Ashton and the owners have known this for a while.
KMcK isn't leaving Town in the lurch, Ashton has a whole year to find a replacement for the 2025/06 season in the Premier League.
KMcK's next club is ManUre, and they are fully briefed on KMcK's plan.
Brighton was used to drum up interest in KMcK and increase his price.
Chelsea was used to further increase his stock.
KMcK can walk away from Town having taken them to the Premier and in a healthy position where we have a year to find a replacement. KMcK's commitment to ManUre is untarnished too.
Town need not panic about the season ahead from a management point of view.

Must also mean we have some exciting transfers incoming, as surely he wants to make sure we have a good chance of survival before extending a contract.... the roller coaster is heading back towards the top again 🎢

Odds slipping for both Brighton and Man U jobs now as well.

Let's see something official and get this new season planned.

I had £30 on McKenna @ 7-1 purely to soften the blow if he had left for Old Trafford. If he now stays it’s the best £30 I’ve ever spent…
