Best save seen from a Town keeper? 22:08 - Jul 2 with 4664 viewsgainsboroughblue

Vaz made some crazy ones last season but in my Town supporting pomp, I saw Forrest pull off an absolute worldie at Derby in the League Cup years ago.

Shilton was applauding at the other end.

From the last 24 years I think it has to be Davis at West Ham.

I remember that Craig Forest made a great save against Wolves in the FA Cup. It was many years ago so it might well not have been that good.

The best goalkeeping display that I’ve seen in the flesh was Richard Wright against West Brom. Think he saved a couple one-on-ones with Lee Hughes and also made a few good save.

Richard Wright's at Wembley at 3-2 was a promotion winner!

Yes remember the 0 - 0 at the Baseball Ground very well. Craig Forrest's best performance. Derby were all over us.

Second this.

Best save I’ve ever seen in a Town match. Looked incredible from the stands.

Then saw the footage later and realised it was even better.

Begovic, but I can't remember against whom.

Vas double save at home to Boro will always stay with me.

It always seemed strange how good he was at those last second reactionary saves but would then get caught out by longer range strikes which seemed easier to save.

Are you referring to 3m30s on this?

Beware, the commentator is one Charlie Hunt.

His double save against Plymouth sticks with me. I don't think I've ever seen the entire North stand give a standing ovation to a goalkeeper before.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

I was going to say this one. But my memory was better than reality. First part was a great save to get down low and to get back up and make himself big, quickly. But in my mind he saved the second more to the left. But in the video it hits him. Still great.

Didn't Richard make a very good save off Alan Shearer when the latter was playing for Blackburn? Or is my poor old memory playing tricks?

He did. At the final whistle Alan Shearer went up to him and told him that he’ll never have a game like that again. He did, but he should have had a lot more.

In terms of the best performance from a Town GK, it has to be Richard Wright away at Blackburn in the FA Cup in 1996.

I was standing right behind that and had that split moments thought of that’s in. My best save too.

Always thought he should have played at a higher level - top keeper

he was a great keeper. after his move to sunderland (and the premier league) i put some money on him to go to world cup in 2006. alas for us both it didn't quite work out...

this combination is pretty decent too
