Crap (as usual), but that’s simply not true.

GK tipped one over halfway through the second half and there was a cross / shot / pass that the Gk had to hold in the first half.... not much admittedly, but had he not saved them, they’d have been goals.

Wasn't the tip over a cross? From the free kick?

Regardless, it's a bit like the TWTD era of "playoff form" and "long passes" etc. to even be worrying about it. If you can't see it with your eyes, then football isn't for you when it comes to teams like this one.

I'm not. I would like to think our fan base was bright enough to wait and see where things are going and acknowledge that Lambert hasn't had a pre season or been able to build his own squad.

The tide is already turning though. In the end we will get what we deserve.

"In the end we will get what we deserve."

That's what I'm worried about. A lot can change with a pre-season and with an easier challenge in League One, but somehow I don't think we're going to bounce straight back.

There's skill and potential but we just seem flimsy and probably lacking two or three stronger and more resilient players. They don't have to be older and wiser either as Nsiala, for example, seems a cut above Chambers on that score.

Let’s give PL a full pre season then judge him after the first dozen games next season ..... chill everyone FFS.

Agreed, as I have already posted two or three times this evening.

United didn't have a shot on target either. OGS clearly hasn't improved them either.

Both of them won 14 of their first 17 games in charge too...

I get the gallows humour side of things.

What I struggle with is this notion of looking forward to next season, playing League 1 (as you say, we shouldn't be there) and thinking that we will romp it.

Lunacy is indeed correct.

I don't see it in regards to next season. I will be very surprised if we are in contention for automatic promotion.

Come on J2, we have seen marginally better football under Lambert than Hurst. We continue to only play in spells and patches, continue to give away stupid goals and remain utterly toothless upfront.

Let's not pretend that, on the pitch, something magical has happened.

Nonsense. Football is miles better and team better organised. Just lacking at either end of the pitch. Try going to matches

Zero shots on target on 22:25 - Apr 10 with 3029 viewsitfcjoe

Firstly, it’s not true as keeper tipped one over from Judge

Secondly we created 2 excellent chances - give me that over shots on target more generally

Yes, but still on target. Had the keeper left it, it would have gone in.

We needed change but we bloody well miss Mick. We've made an absolute clustf*ck of things since he's gone.

Argh...it's awful at the moment. This is worse and more embarrassing than being relegated from the Prem. Feels like death from a thousand cuts.

What's worse is many seem so ready to accept relegation in some odd hope of better football and bouncing straight back up.

What happens if we don’t bounce straight back up?

If we are so poor in the championship what makes people think we will win Division 3 at that first attempt?

Shots on target equals the GK making a save doesn’t it?

Judges shot went well wide.

Nsiala? Wow, he's probably one of the worst defenders we have at centre back and an absolute liability. A mistake waiting to happen unfortunately.

‘Many seem to accept relegation’

What else can we do? We’re football fans, following football is about having fun and enjoying yourself, making the best of the situation. It’s obvious we’ve been going down for ages, would you rather our fans had just wept silently through every game for the last few months? I think the positive atmosphere and general good humour around the place has been one of the only good things to come from a dreadful season.

Maybe I’ve just mellowed too much with age but I think some people take it all far too seriously sometimes.

Openly protesting against Evan's would be a start.

A start of what though? Evans is useless and we are stuck with each other. It's utterly utterly pointless protesting against him. He isnt going away and for all his faults, he continues to fund us. He is catastrophically incompetent and amazingly unlucky but he isnt an rsehole. You just need to accept things as they are, support the team, and hope we can find a way to bounce back. That's our lot in life now.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I've been less impressed by Chambers this season on that score. Or Pennington before him.

Nsiala looks a mistake waiting to happen unfortunately and appears to create more panic than anything else, he's certainly not a Championship defender. I'd like to see what he is like paired with Collins perhaps that might make a difference? Personally, I'd have Pennington over Nsiala every day of the week from what I've seen of him this season.
