So forget all the usual bollox, what things have you done, that literally blew your mind and reckon others would enjoy too. Not a look at me - rather a "you'd so love this" thread.
From me - if you genuinely enjoy hiking - and are fit - get to the Torres Del Paine in Chile. Really tough walking - but worth every second of effort if you get a sunny day / great view at the end...

See a baby being born.
Honest question though, can you ever unsee it? I can't decide whether to look or not when the moment comes. Deep down I thought it would still be like the 70's and I could sit smoking outside with the other blokes.
Travel to the furthest North commercial Airport at Longyearbyen and Kayak across the Isfjorden ( sadly no Polar bears about but did see a paw print that one left the week before )
Going to St Kilda in the Hebrides was pretty special
Feeding the coal tits by hand at Loch Garten RSPB reserve was very cool
Seeing Killer Whales in the wild off Vancouver Island when a young teen.

You 'have' to.
Amazing.
Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

Sunny day - yeah tbf it did snow a bit on the way up the last bit!
But we got like 90% clear view of the lake / towers - so well happy with that :-)
Not heard of Ladakh - will have a read up, thanks.
Done Aus and SA cricket - so maybe should try India too now....as you say a long way to go if all you're going to do is watch the cricket.
Actually the weather did improve and we got up to the Torres viewpoint for decent views.
Ladakh was part of Kashmir until late last year, not sure that tourists will be welcome whilst Modi's government is suppressing dissent around there but well worth a visit.
I did SA and NZ for cricket, both as part of a wider holiday. I think India would definitely be a great place to watch cricket, chaotic but very different to the UK.

The midwife sometimes has to stitch stuff back together, if there has been a cut or a tear (a vag-anus), just ask for an extra couple of stitches to be put in....
Don’t. The midwife will hate you. But it’s funny.
There was nothing more terrifying than watching my boy being pulled into this world. Literally pulled, with forceps.

Did Yosemite last year it was amazing, apart from the traffic queues all the way around, but did go on 5 July so they were all on vacation.
We did the south road in and north road out then up to Glacier Point, the change in temperature is pretty amazing.
Enjoy it you will have a great time.
Doing other things in Cali as well?
Cheers - sounds great. Yeah - we are there for three weeks (including a 'hop' across to Hawaii!). Bit of a road trip planned - flying into SFO, doing Nappa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Vegas, Grand Canyon, LA and the coast road back to San Francisco. Will need a holiday after all that!!
Although make sure to bring something warm to sleep in if you do the tents!
Other than that, just follow the recommended trails for your level of fitness and you can't really go wrong.
We got very confused when we went as we saw quite a large amount of helicopters buzzing about just before we left. Turns out we missed Obama by about an hour.
It's a VERY bad idea to do things that 'literally' blow your mind. It would be very messy and almost certainly terminal. Which would probably be preferable to surviving in a vegetative state.
What you want to concentrate on are things that metaphorically blow your mind

Just be in the room. I stayed at the head end away from the goal end, so to speak.

Nah that's riding a motorbike, like it's been stolen :-)
The only time I ever felt a buzz on a motorbike was as a pillion to an old Vietnamese chap in and around the city of Hue. How the hell we got back to the hotel without hitting anything is still a mystery.
We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.
