Grange Farm 09:18 - Sep 7 with 17638 views | itfcjoe | Armed police there and helicopter landing - a friend (and some time TWTD poster) has heard a child has been shot. Awful start to the week, hopefully it's not true, or if it is that there isn't a death, but it looks bad

The majority yes, that's not to say there arent police there who could & probably did respond to things like this, but its certainly not anywhere close to the levels it used to be back in the day, when you could spot a shift change just by driving along Main Rd
Grange Farm on 15:20 - Sep 7 with 4211 views | itfcjoe | I live down a dead end lane just outside Kesgrave, but plenty of access from the bottom for walkers to other areas. I've just seen an amulance go past, followed by a police car, followed by a police car with lights on, then 2 fully cabbed fire engines, and now an unmarked police car with the light on As I type this 2 more have just flown pass (unmarked) - guessing something has happened on the heath. Since this post - 3 more Incident Response Unit Ambulances [Post edited 7 Sep 2020 15:26]

I'd have assumed there might be a large Police presence at the school around home time but surely not that many ambulances and fire engines. What on earth is going on! [Post edited 7 Sep 2020 15:40]

I got a load of downvotes and people on my case for suggesting the board was quiet in the wake of the incident and people banging on about how the family of the victim could be a poster blah blah blah. But about 5 or 6 people now have inferred it's drugs / gangs related and the thought police don't see any problem with that at all. Hypocritical as f*** this place. I'm out.

I made quite an innocent remark that I was surprised that there was one thread with eight replies after three hours following a national incident which was confirmed as the shooting of a child that happened locally and got jumped on by a load of people saying that the victims family could post here and everyone was showing decorum, people didn't want to speculate, which is absolute rubbish. All I had said is I was surprised it wasn't being heavily reference here. People jump on me with a load of downvotes. However, on this thread half the replies have been people suggesting or speculating that it may have been gang / drugs related with no evidence of that at all, showing no decorum or respect to the potential relatives. But because the people making these comments are 'faces' - no such comments. It's no wonder people are leaving this place. It is just like the UK / USA politics. It's not about what people say any more it's about who is saying it. The popular kids can say whatever rubbish they want and they'll get uppies and the other kids can make the most valid point on earth and get trolled or downvoted. This isn't against you Joe. You seem a really decent sort. More of an observation that this place now reflects the stupidity of the outside world and it's a real shame.

Whatever it was the Fire service shows it as a closed incident, though they have it categorised as type “Other Incident” rather than a fire or crash.

That speculation didn't come from here, but was what was being talked about more widely on Kesgrave social media groups.

A second thread. This one was entitled Grange Farm and could equally have been about a new bakery opening. People on here would have kids at that school and at the time the circumstances were unknown. I was merely surprised that barely nothing was being said when a gunman was at large in the local area following a child shooting that was all. People starting raining downvotes. Meanwhile on this thread people get to speculate about it being gang and drugs related (when it was not) and that goes unchallenged or upvoted. This place is ridiculous. Wouldn't be right to comment on what has happened, but there's no wider threat to the public. This morning it could easily have been assumed there was and I was lambasted for simply wondering why it had barely been mentioned - a live, national media story. Anyway, I'm done with this place.

I haven't seen the details as to what it was, have you got a link? I'd enquired re County Lines as that seems to be the bane of our county at the moment with regards to crime.

It has been frequently posted on here. That's my point. On my thread - it's strange how a child has been shot locally and it's barely been mentioned when the gunman is still at large and it could affect people here. TWTD response - the family could post here we don't want to speculate. This thread - Let's all speculate that it was drugs and gangs. That's what annoyed me. I appreciate it's been wrongly speculated elsewhere but sick of the same people here agreeing or disagreeing with people and not the actual comments themselves. It doesn't matter who posts what any more. It's like Labour and Tory. People just agree with whoever they like - regardless of content.

I also wondered if it was drug/gang related due to the nature of the incident and the fact that other streets in Ipswich had been cordoned off. I sincerely hope it isn't gang related and is just an awful isolated incident, thoughts definitely go to the poor lad and his family.
