Grange Farm 09:18 - Sep 7 with 17634 views | itfcjoe | Armed police there and helicopter landing - a friend (and some time TWTD poster) has heard a child has been shot. Awful start to the week, hopefully it's not true, or if it is that there isn't a death, but it looks bad

Grange Farm on 16:16 - Sep 7 by WarkTheWarkITFC | A second thread. This one was entitled Grange Farm and could equally have been about a new bakery opening. People on here would have kids at that school and at the time the circumstances were unknown. I was merely surprised that barely nothing was being said when a gunman was at large in the local area following a child shooting that was all. People starting raining downvotes. Meanwhile on this thread people get to speculate about it being gang and drugs related (when it was not) and that goes unchallenged or upvoted. This place is ridiculous. Wouldn't be right to comment on what has happened, but there's no wider threat to the public. This morning it could easily have been assumed there was and I was lambasted for simply wondering why it had barely been mentioned - a live, national media story. Anyway, I'm done with this place. |
For what it's worth, I don't think it's an unreasonable observation from yourself. But probably best to move on from it now. Hopefully more details will come to light in the next 24 hours which can clarify or conflict the speculation.

Grange Farm on 16:17 - Sep 7 by itfcjoe | I haven't seen the details as to what it was, have you got a link? I'd enquired re County Lines as that seems to be the bane of our county at the moment with regards to crime. |
No link. I know someone closely involved (which is what really annoyed me about people suggesting I was speculating when everyone else was) and know the actual circumstances. Won't share them here other than to say the Police will presumably confirm soon why it would be deemed isolated and why other parents won't need to be anxious. Like I say, nothing against you!

Grange Farm on 16:19 - Sep 7 by WarkTheWarkITFC | It has been frequently posted on here. That's my point. On my thread - it's strange how a child has been shot locally and it's barely been mentioned when the gunman is still at large and it could affect people here. TWTD response - the family could post here we don't want to speculate. This thread - Let's all speculate that it was drugs and gangs. That's what annoyed me. I appreciate it's been wrongly speculated elsewhere but sick of the same people here agreeing or disagreeing with people and not the actual comments themselves. It doesn't matter who posts what any more. It's like Labour and Tory. People just agree with whoever they like - regardless of content. |
A kid's been shot. You're making this very much about you. Surely you can see there are bigger things at play then you feeling a bit put out by peoples' bias on the forum? It's not something where you need to keep saying "I'm off woe is me" several times over given the severity of the situation is it?

I don't want to stir things but as he's being extremely dramatic and making it sound much worse than it was; here is the link: Strange board this morning by WarkTheWarkITFC 7 Sep 2020 12:13More posts in 20 minutes about a fake news account suggesting Norwood is leaving there have been about a child being shot in Kesgrave in 3 hours.

Grange Farm on 16:19 - Sep 7 by J2BLUE | People simply pointed out there wasn't much that could be said about this. If you want to flounce off over that then go. |
And as I said, before the facts were established, someone had a gun and had shot a child locally and was still at large people here (with children at that very school) were discussing a fake transfer account saying Norwood was off to Swindon. I merely made that observation given that TWTD has always been incredibly up to date with major developing national stories like that and barely nothing was being said on here, which I simply found strange.

I really don't care about upvotes or downvotes. Today has simply highlighted what I've thought for some time about some of the upvote and downvote habits and replies of certain posters. Obviously an innocent child is in a serious condition and that's the only thing that matters. But you've decided you need to have your say, much like me.

I'm not sure it's quite that, I think the two threads obviously went in different directions. I agree that posters should be careful with what they say on here, a number of people on here will know those directly involved, perhaps me included, I went to Kesgrave and still know a lot of people in the area. I certainly wouldn't want the names of those involved mentioned. But at the same time I think there is an inevitability that people will speculate about what was behind the incident or repeat the speculation which is circulating elsewhere. I'm not sure the two are entirely contradictory.

Indeed, other than speculating about what might have been behind the incident which the WarkTheWarkITFC has taken issue with. Worth noting that the first post in this thread has had more than 4,000 views, almost double the other thread which was referred to.

And whilst speculating about what may have happened isn't ideal, it's not a surprise given other streets in Ipswich were cordoned off. Like yourself, I used to go to Kesgrave ad my father lives a stones throw away from the incident this morning, I suppose speculating and contextualising is just one way of trying to deal with this terrible event.

Grange Farm on 16:14 - Sep 7 by Mullet | I hope for the best possible outcome happens from an awful situation. My FiL remarked "I thought Ipswich was a sleepy little town" which is why people don't expect it, but the fabric of British society is definitely changing in my opinion. |

Profile is gone now. His second flouncy exit from the board after he did the same as DanFord. Quite how anybody can make a story about a local teenager being shot about them is quite incredible.

We will know when he is back because some new poster will start multiple threads with lengthy usually meaningless opening posts. I know that that is catty/bitchy but he is/was one of the few posters that annoys me just be being here-or did!
