Oldest team in the league on 21:21 - Nov 15 with 1259 views | haynes_toe1 | All I've been able to gather from this thread is we arent allowed to use anything Real Lambert has actually done as evidence to how young or old a team he picks or has. However using a hypothetical made up Lambert to make your point is not just ok, its actively encouraged.

Oldest team in the league on 17:50 - Nov 15 by footers | We have some very old players and some very young players. Averages, innit. And besides, who cares? |
We don’t really play any very young players though, well not any that are ours anyway

If you can't see that but for unavailability, the likes of Woolfy, Downes and Lankaster would've played more (and in the cases of the first two, would've played every game), thus bringing the average age down, then you're a little bit thick. Harbs and his little lambs can bleat all they want, this is undeniably true.

Think that's two or three times you've said you're done with the thread and then you've returned with a frankly terrible attitude towards your fellow posters. What a way to start your week.

I did leave the thread. I then returned the next day. When you leave your house does it mean you never return? Nothing wrong with my attitude to someone who thought they'd come in and be sarcastic/take the piss. I simply gave some back. And you're a fine one to talk when it comes to attitude.

No way this guy isn't a troll? "Managerial GOD Lambert would NEVER do this thing". Is provided evidence of doing exactly that thing. "No you're not allowed to say that, stop talking nonsense". Give it a rest, mate. The actual evidence of Lambert's team selections over a 2 year period give a very clear picture.

....most recent infantile, flouncy departure (which was due to an argument about potatoes, if anyone needs reminding), you stated that this was a "new and improved" version of the old Dolly. By inference that means that you accepted that the old version was in need of improvement. By my reckoning this "improved version" seems exactly the same as the last one, and if anything more argumentative and desperate to win the internet than the previous spud obsessed incarnation. You should just chill a bit young man, don't take everything so seriously, try to forget about Fishface for a while, accept that you aren't always right and move on. You'll run out of (not so) clever usernames otherwise. Potatoes.

The discussion, if you look at the OP properly, is on our players who have started this season. I've merely asserted that we'd have a younger average age this season had some of our injured/unavailable players been available from the start. That's all.

I know you're only on a windup, but as I've just said to someone else, I'm only stating that several younger players would have started (and remained) in our first team this season had they not been injured or their head had been right (in Downes' case). Some people didn't like me defending Lambert and steamed into me. I probably didn't respond in the best way, but I still stand by my initial point. The potatoes one was similar actually. All I said was they're not the best vegetable as they don't count as one of your 5 a day. Again, a reasonable position. J2 got angry with this because he did a diet with them that worked for him and he didn't like me seemingly slagging off his favourite tuber. Then the ding dong started. You're probably right in that I shouldn't rise to it and just stick to my initial reasonable positions. I've given up alcohol and caffeine, so maybe I will improve in this regard! It's interesting isn't it, that herbs accused me of running away from this thread, and yet when I keep responding I'm being argumentative. Can't win, can I?!

That's honestly how I read it. Were you not annoyed I slagged off something that's close to your heart? Apologies if I got that wrong but you didn't seem happy and was telling me how ignorant I was about its benefits (when all I'd said up to that point was it's not one of your 5 a day, which is true).

Oldest team in the league on 17:59 - Nov 15 by itfcjoe | Ok, but when has Nolan been rested - this is a player who you think it is ludicrous that he’s possibly start ahead of Bishop. We aren’t talking about Brett McGavin here - Nolan is a player the manager clearly wants to play every week |
Perhaps worth pointing out that but the for the Downes-Palace situation Nolan wouldn't have started the season and probably - although it's impossible to say for definite obviously - wouldn't have become a regular in the manner he has.

It could quite easily have been the case that Nolan started every game and Bishop was on the bench though, PL clearly a massive Nolan fan
