You're talking about his contract ending which isn't a direct response at all. It may well have been a mitigating factor, sure. |
I don't think McCarthy walks out early if it's not confirmed he's out of the job though. So maybe the fans did lead to him leaving five games sooner, but that hasn't had any long term effect since he was already confirmed as out of the job at the end of the season.
So while the anti-McCarthy chants were a bit much (especially after he was confirmed as leaving), to me it didn't have any long term effect on the club. Like I said I believe it was the 13000 crowds which made up Evans' mind, and it's out of order to take issue with people choosing not to go to games. |  |
