Control, passing, tackling and energy. Look like scoring every attack.

.. and done something akin to Norwich.

Except he got Milne in and gave Mick another season.

The scene was set

Amazing what just £90m gets you these days.

Think they've been in the Premier twice in the last 5 years so parachute payments 90m about right plus they've had sales of a few youngsters past couple seasons so about £150m incoming.

Can't deny they play some great football and are a well run club, very very envious

The ONLY good thing about them doing well this season is that their inbred fans are stuck at home and can't go to games singing that fecking awful dirge they sing about scrimmaging.

Ready! Steady! Cook!

If it helps ease the pain might be able to make some money by betting on them staying up next season.

By all accounts it looks like there will be at least 3 worse, less talented clubs in the prem next season.

The two who go up behind them will probably come straight back down then you got the likes of Fulham, Brighton, Newcastle to struggle again next season.

I think they'll be quite comfortable in the Premier league next season, nothing silly like a European place but comfortably mid table.

Never mind.

Lol over £500m over the last 5-6 years!

We act like someone’s given them money for free. They keep getting promoted which earns them the money. Delia has less money that Marcus so they have had no actual advantage other that how they have been run. But there are lessons for us. Invest in the academy, not hundreds of jobsworth squad players. Commit to a philosophy of football and recruit and train into that (including the academy) and prioritise attractive, creative, modern football.

I doubt there would be many complaining if we used the same to do the same. Also, I am sure many would called the Norwich fan tinpot for calling us out on it.

Imagine spending roughly 7mil a year over A 12 year period on a team and calling yourself competitive though. But it's Covid and Parachute Payments fault. Oh and FFP.

Remember Milne talking about it at the time and I realised then just how out of touch with football he was. At the time outside England the sporting director model was becoming the norm in some of Europes biggest leagues, it was hardly like Norwich were doing anything new.

They must pay some nice wages then as even they have brought in a fair number of freebies, but alot from abroad so not sure if there would be any other form of fee's involved?

The age old conundrum and why football clubs have their fans over a barrel: I want what Norwich have, probably more desperately than at any time I’ve followed Ipswich, but I’d never dream of switching allegiance. So we’re stuck with this ongoing sloth until something changes. And while Norwich fans strut around like peacocks and we brace ourselves for them finally? making a decent fist of a Premier League campaign, we’re left with gallows humour, the prospect of a league game at Cheltenham and the rinse and repeat of dashed hopes, injured players and disappointment. If only the people running and representing the club knew what they would unleash behind them if they could just start performing their roles well enough.
